Boab 4x4 in QLD

Anyone had any dealings with Boab 4x4 up in Brissie.

Just wondering on how they go with quality of work, price etc.

Thinking about having some mechanical work done and a good pre-trip inspection.

Thanks,

no serious mods. Only 2" lift and 33" tyres. I'm hoping the process will make insurance cheaper - male under 25 living in sydney is the most expensive insurance in Australia, so hopefully the move will drop this price.

Moved to Brissie

G'day all,

I've just moved to Brissie from Sydney and am thinking of changing my rego over to QLD plates.

Can anyone recommend a good roadworthy inspection place on the northside who understand 4wdrives?

cheers

Flares

Anyone tried the Bushranger or TJM rubber flares?

Any good?

Looking for a good option to cover my rubber without going to fibreglass

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

I've just moved to Brisbane. Does this mean I can have my 33" muddies on my cruiser or am I wasting my time trying to change the rego.

What's the point of the front resonator anyway?

It is fine on my truck (I've only killed the rear muffler) but I assumed it would be restricting the flow in some way as well.

Is this incorrect?

Would I get the same power increase from just puting a new rear muffler and piping from the ...

Exhaust for 80 series

I've got a 1HZ that needs a new exhaust.

I was just wondering what others have got and what seems to work well in terms of extra power etc.

I was thinking of a 2.5" from the manifold, getting rid of the front resonator, hi flow rear muffler and 2.5" out.

Exhaust shops so far only want to ...

Thanks. I know which shock it is and have checked the seal to make sure its clean and all that but it still leaks!! The leak is too slow for it to be a break in the air lines. Oh well - i spose I'll just keep pumping them up every time I get in the car

Leaking Ranchos

I've got rancho 9000's with an in cab kit and i can't stop the front ones leaking. Usually you lose all the pressure overnight in the fronts but the rear ones are fine. I've pulled the hoses out and reconnected them and all that but wondering if anyone had had a similar problem and found some ...

Starting problem with my 80

G'day all,

I have an intermittent problem with starting my 80. Every now and then you go to start it and it ticks (just once) and nothing else happens. You repeat a few times and eventually it starts.

Is this a solenoid problem? or something else?

Thanks

You can keep the sway bars if you go 4" or you will need to modify them if you go 6". I have the same model but only a 2" and 33" BFG's. It's my daily driver as well and I didn't want to go through the crap of engineers certificates - I will one day!

80 Series Seats

Does anyone know if GXL seats fit into DX 80 series cruisers. I'm guessing the drivers seat does but can you take out the bench and bolt in a bucket for the passenger and the centre console?
