Boring of the crank & cam tunnel is worth while for the life of the new bearings, also having the crank machined for the new bearings. Over the years of the engine heating and cooling will slightly alter spec's so machining brings these back within manufactor spec's.

My mig is a MigoMag 265 very good duty cycle and on talking to a mig repair shop ( repairers not sellers ) in Geelong the also recommend the MigoMag.
I was looking at ESAB, Unimig, BOC and went migomag due to better duty cycle and relaibility.

Try AXT Diesel (Andrew ) or AG Diesel ( Ozy ) both giving me advice that the standard turbo is fine if you like low and mid range power around the 20 - 25%, top end will increase but only around 10%. This is the set up I'm going for as I don't rev mine hard. Both said also the MTQ set is good as ...

Any diesel oil as long as it meets or exceeds the manufacture's specifications. Have a look at the following site's and see what they recommend www.shell.com.au, www.castrol.com.au, www.valvoline.com.au, www.fuchs.com.au, www.mobil.com.au & www.penrite.com.au

Shell Rimula X is what I use.

You need to be careful as some GU 4.2TD ran different oil filter's i.e the full flow filter was different to the bypass filter. You need to chat to nissan and find the right filter's you require. Once you have the factory part numbers you then can cross reference them to after market filter.

GU IV trailing arm weights

I was wondering why the rear lower trailing arms have weights mounted on them ? As I will be fitting a 4" lift to the patrol and getting extended lower trailing arms will have to tranfer these weights.
