I have also found nissan oil filters suffering with drain back problems. I use donaldson filters and no problem.

Listed on the thread call GU part numbers, there is listed aftermarket filter numbers to suit a GU 4.2TD

To suit 4.2 GU TD intercooled but some GU's ran different bypass filters compared to the full flow oil filter.

Or mark it then use a metal hole saw. Take it slowly and plenty of cutting compound will give great results.

You may also have to extend ur bump stops but depends on shock length when compressed.

I have a Icom 400 pro software change so I can use either 5W, 11W or 25W rf output I just leave it on 25W other than that great radio.

My mig is a MigoMag 265 very good duty cycle and on talking to a mig repair shop ( repairers not sellers ) in Geelong the also recommend the MigoMag.

thats what i thought to, but all the mixer down there dont rate the oil. They swear by RX super.

True but the filters maybe getting plugged thus oil going through the bypass valve and not getting filtered, cheap insurance change oil change filters.

I have just ordered a thermguard digital pyro meter for my GU 4.2TD but I prefer the dial guage for boost mine is VDO. I will post pics when installed.

Was told by some welders to drink milk also as it line's ur throat, doing this has helped me. But I still grind the gal back and plenty of ventilation as well.

Jo I have been told by Guests 4x4 centre that AG Diesel is very good as well, I have yet to try them but will soon for a power upgrade.

Shell Rimula X is what I use.

You need to be careful as some GU 4.2TD ran different oil filter's i.e the full flow filter was different to the bypass filter. You need to chat to nissan and find the right filter's you require. Once you have the factory part numbers you then can cross reference them to after market filter.

I just picked up my 4in medium Dobinsons today (thanks to ludacris). They're for my LWB but I don't think there's a difference between SWB and LWB but I'm happy to be proved wrong. Maybe check the Dodinson website, it has their whole catalog online.

I was wondering why the rear lower trailing arms have weights mounted on them ? As I will be fitting a 4" lift to the patrol and getting extended lower trailing arms will have to tranfer these weights.
