Another way of doing it I have seen done is to move the engine forwards 60mm then the gearbox and shafts all fit.

Not that hard to put adaptor plates on the 2 engine mounts and not much else to do for it to fit ok.

Your so lucky. Wide wheels for LandCruisers over here are like rocking horse droppings.

But that would strain the bearings just as much as spacers since you are still causing the wheel to be offset compared to its normal position.

Well I think you will be ok.

Shocks always top out. Thats pretty much the only thing that controlls your max lift and stops the springs dropping out the cups.

So I guess they are designed to do it. Can't see that the added pressure of 2 inch longer springs is going to make much difference.

Your existing standard shocks will stop your 2 inch longer springs from extending fully. So you won't get the full benefit of them being 2 inches longer. It will still sit higher by 2 inches you will just still only have the max spring extension you have at the moment as this is restricted by the ...

Yes. Standard axles.
Wheel spacers are not ideal but without them 14.5 inch tyres on 10 inch rims rub on chassis rails at back and restrict steering on front.
Toyota wheel beaings are massive and have no problems with the big wheels and spacers.

It is no less stable, and not more likely to roll over, with the 4 inch lift since the wheelbase is now 8 inches wider dut to the spacers and bigger wheels.

So in theory it is in fact less likely to roll (I hope).

Anyway I needed to lift it 4 inches to get the wheels on :D

Nice one.

Remember to only teke off one radius arm at a time otherwise if you take them both off your axle will move forwards, the prop will drop and you will probably have to then take off the springs and shocks to get it all back again!

Good luck :D

Mmmm. Never come accross this and don't understand why that should be the case (although if youve experienced it then who am I to argue) The thing is as a lead acid battery becomes more discharged its internal impedance goes up. If you have 2 batteries in series then the proportion of the charge ...

The Warn Winch (I have a 9000) does not have a fuse. Its the same theory as your starter motor, since a winch motor is prettty much like a starter motor anyway. Basically the winch motor draws so much current from the battery that the additional resistance introduced into the circuit by a fuse would ...

Pit Bulls Rockers go great. Running them on tarmac at 15psi they curve accross the tread face so about 3/4 of the surface is on the road. I might try them a bit higher but not more than 20. In the mud they run at about 8psi. I know loads of people running swampers on Vitaras and I'd take the Pit ...

Beware of lockers though.
My friend has an LJ70, locked the front diff, went mud plugging, and blew up the UJ on the wheel end of a driveshaft.

Problem is if a wheel gets jammed (bogged down in deep mud for example) and the diff is locked it keeps putting power to the stuck wheel and BANG!!!!
