Why don't you want a body lift? THe body lift should come well before a spring lift. I have an '88 Rangie, 1" (yes, 1 inch!) lift, 31" tyres and it kicks the ass of most things out there that have spent upwards of $5000 on mods alone! My car didn't even cost $5000! IMHO this is what you should do ...

Tyre prssures for 31" tyres?

I am running 31x10.5x15 bfg muddies. Should I run standard pressures for road use? I.e. 28psi front and 35psi rear?

2nd Battery under passenger seat of RRC?

Does anyone know if you can fit a 2nd battery (sealed, optima type) under the passenger seat of a RHD (Driver seat of a LHD I suppose) of a RRC?
I have no room under the bonet due to other mods.
If it will fit, what are the possible problems as there are definately some good advantages.

top idea tho
I will be retaining the existing air box ('88 injection) and running a pipe to the vent.
What do you mean by a splash guard/water trap and why?

Innovative snorkel/inlet idea?

Has anyone ever used an after market vent put into the side of the scuttle (usualy added to aid cooling of engine bay) as a snorkel/inlet? I don't intend to drive into water as deep as the scuttle pan as this is nearly up to the window height of the Rangie (31" tyres and 1" lift). It seems like it ...

This sounds like the idle for the gas as it is different for the idle adjustment for the fuel. Try and locate that and try it. The idle should be vacuum controlled on the gas so should have a pipe going to.

Which solenoid? Most will fit most applications. You shouldn't need a "land rover" specific on from a dealership.

Its free to a good home.
On three conditions:
1. You don't mind it being damaged (i.e. you are good with a welding torch and at bending steel)
2.I keep the bolts for my new one.
3.You pick it up yourself.
PM me your email address if you are interested and I'll describe the damage/send some pics.

How do you remove an ARB rear bar/step?

Been trying to take the rear ARB bar off my Rangie and just can't figure out how to. There are 2 fixing points, chassis rails and rear x-member. I know I have to unbolt these to get it off but the bolts in the rear x-member don't have captive nuts and I can't get to the nuts to grip them. If I could ...

Major things rarely go wrong with these motors. The EFI can be a bit dodgy though. DO IT! I'm sure the motor will be fine. Some reasons the sump would be off are: -new sump gasket needed -looking for causes of another oil leak -previous owners may not have changed oil regularly and pick-up pip may ...

'88 Specs are 3.5 EFI with flapper type flow meter (not Hotwire injection). This injection system is great unless you are using gas. With gas it is prone to bachfire and needs an anti-blowback valve to prevent expensive damage to the flow meter. 3.9 motors have 3.9 written on the plenum chamber. If ...

Ok. Been doing some research and have found that 7.50-16 size tyres would give me a bigger diameter (same as 235s) and no rubbing.
Anyone had any experience with this tyre size?
Can you even get them in Oz?

Ok. Will a 2" body lift ONLY allow me to fit 235s?
If not, will a 2" body lift and inner guard trimming work?
If so, what needs to be trimmed and from where exactly? Will any of the trimming be visible? I don't want to butcher my truck u see!

Is this a definate as I've heard otherwise. Its been very difficultto get a definate answer from someone who has tried to fit these tyres.

Biggest tyre for a Classic?

I've heard conflicting comments, and I'm sure this will be no different.
Can you fit A/T 235/85R16s on a RR Classic, with no lifts and no body mods. The tyres would be on 16x6 rostyle steel RR wheels.
Also comments on 215/85R16s would also be appreciated.
