I had a set of 38's the ones vanbox now has I found them to stiff in the side walls had to run them vertualy flat to get them to flex. Good in mud average on rocks and deffenitly not good for road use. I would not buy another set unless it was in the sticky compund.

Strength wise you are better off welding paltes to chassis then bolting to those plates.

I've put soild windows in, I had lexan in there but was to flexible rattled and sometimes popped out.

I now have solid glass got it done at O'Briens
$200 a side.

Tony im not sure if you are aware but 4140 is not that easy to weld properly I weld it at work we weld clevises onto hydraulic cylinder rods. It needs to be pre heated to 200-250 deg. not allowed to cool during welding, only welded with low hydrogen electrode and has to cooled very slowly. If it is ...

I had a fixed piece of toughend glass installed by O'BRIENS they didn't have a problem doing it and I still have back seat in $200 a side. I did have a piece of lexan in there but it was forever popping out.

i would ask... what sort of comps? are you talking high speed gear? or werock? or tufftruck?? you going to run 35s or 53boggers?? those questions would depend on that and budget. if you have enough just buy petes yellow 40. if your struggling some DIY at home can go along way! the sort of comps ...

I am thinking about building a tuff FJ40 for comps but not sure what diffs and transfer case to use it must be albut bullet proof. Any suggestions??? :D :armsup:
