I'd go for a 265/75 and maybe a tyre like the ATZ.

Yeah just sort of lever it out, be gentle as it doesn't take much to remove it. Also, not all GUs have the two screws, but mine did and is same spec as yours... When I replaced my head unit, I got a cable which plugs in between head unit (Alpine one) and nissan wiring loom so that you don't have to ...

Is your's the GU4? If so not sure how to get plastic cover off, but the head unit has four screws and the pulls straight out, very easy. My GU3 has two screws just above air con. controls and two small 'leverage points' on bottom lip of plastic cover, just insert small flat blade screw driver. Again ...

I pulled one of mine out (GU with flares) and didn't have to take the flare off. Those plastic caps/screw things just need the centre levered out with small screw driver then they pull out, maybe with plyers if needed.

It's an absolute pain to get that plastic cover back in though....

I've got an Exide N70 deep cycle battery as the aux battery. I've got a Waeco CF50 in the back which is always on. Seems fine, and I haven't been driving it much for a while now. My previous battery was the same, with the same fridge and ran for 3 1/2 years until it died. Don't think I can complain ...

6 year / 175,000km warranty??? Go for it. They are a nice engine usually... I had a 3.0lt GU2 but sold it at 85,000km with no probs, now have 4.2TD and love it!
But like I said, with a warranty like that then I wouldn't be too concerned.

I rang the igintion wire through to ignition on steering column. Fairly easy to poke through that big factory grommet next to brake booster. Can't remember what colour wire, but if you have a multi-meter it's easy enough to work out.

Hope this helps.

Challenger lower low range gearing

Friend of mine, has a 04 Challenger and was about to order the 68% reduction gears from Mark's 4WD adapters, but found out they stopped making them 4 weeks ago!!! How's that for timing....? Does anyone know where else can get them? Even overseas if need be?

thanks,
Mark

Personally I found the rear LSD to tight for on road driving. With anything but highway tyres on it, it would wildly oversteer when accelerating out of corners in the wet. I had an air locker installed and perfect! You just get a bit of inside wheel spinning, but is much safer than before.

Thanks guys for the replys. As for Phil, I think will try my 3.9s for a while now just with the speedo fixed. I've heard the same as others about 35s and changing to 4.6s so maybe if I get over my 'emotional girly moment' I might one day buy 35s and 4.3s! Off to Toowoomba tomorrow and then onto ...

33s 4.2TD GU with 3.9 diffs

Hi all, just wondering who's running this combo, just fitted my 33s today and noticed how bad the speedo is out, 80 on speedo is 88 on GPS.... Hoping to get away with just calibrating the speedo, and not changing ratios... unless anyone has some cheap (but good!!) 4.3 gears.

thanks,
Mark
