Re: Second battery DEAD after two years!

No one has considered the simple fact of heat.

As ambient temperature increases the voltage in which a battery requires to charge (both absorption and float) decreases. Most flooded lead acid batteries required 14.4VDC absorption and 13.6VDC float AT 25DEG C.

14.8VDC into a battery underbonnet ...

Re: which fuses for 100Amp + circuits

Hi all,

Winch draw will vary greatly depending on how much rope/wire is on the drum.

For this its hard to find a fuse that will fully protect the system. In this situation the best fuse to use is one that has multiple blow points depending on current and time.

These are known as powerval fuses ...

Cheers.

This will help create an even ...

for inverter fusing use this -

surge wattage divided by nominal voltage = approx fuse size.

Most 300watt inverters have a surge wattage of 600w, so....

600/12 = 50amp, anything under 50amp will be fine.

If using an inline fuse, use something like a midi or mega fuse, as the standard auto or ...

I recently picked a set up from superior eng. was about $45 a diff. might of been cheaper to track down the olive and nuts, 1/4" semi-rigid tube and breathers myself but its nice to just get it all in the one place.

cheers, Justin
