31s or 30s?

Hey guys, About to get new tyres for my hilux (1998 3L diesel) and up until now have been running 31 x 10.5 tyres. I am thinking of going to 30 x 9.5 and the dude at the store tells me from experience I will "get a noticiable improvement in acceleration". Wondering if anyone has swapped between the ...

Rusty Bullbar

What is the best way to attack surface rust on a steel bullbar.

I was thinking of getting it sandblasted then painted (either home job or powdercoat).

Anyone have any recommendations?

I have worked it out. I was reading the traxide diagrams incorrectly. The sockets are shown in the diagram as with the terminals facing you and I had assumed it was the other way around.

Works good though. Cant say i notice a difference jsut yet but will do some comparisions later on.

Diesel Injectors - When to clean?

Ive got a 98 3LD hilux at about 190k and am wondering when/if I should get the injectors cleaned.

The car doesnt blow any smoke at all so im assuming they are in good nick. Its due for another timing belt soon as well.

Fury diff/gbox drain plugs

Should I be seeing ultra fine metal paste on the magnet of the drain plug when I change the diff and gearbox oils?

I use castrol LSX90 and Multitrax in diff and gearbox.

Tyre Question - Hilux

I picked up a 31x10.5xR15 tyre from the dump along with an alloy mitsubishi 15in six stud rim and want to use it as a second spare on my hilux.

Do all tyres have to have the same offset on a car? I currently have sunrasias on the car.

Thanks

Ive been told the wheel arch will crack. Go have a feel of the weight in some of the deep cycle batteries. The one i have would be almost 30kg so they are alot heavier than normal starters.

I'd mod the tray to pride extra support if i could just to be safe...or just don't drive on corrigations

Power inverter - Recommendations?

HI
I'm looking at getting a power inverter to go from 12V to 240V. I will use it to run a laptop, charge cameras and toaster.

I have noticed some cheap 100W inverters in Kmart etc. Would these be suitable?

Thanks

When topping up a battery with De-ionized water, how far do you fill them? My manual says do not overfill so i put enough in to just cover the cells.
