I didn't weld the bullbar at all. I welded a section of 50mm box to the chassis so that the bar sits on top of it.

I have done a 50mm body lift and lifted my steel bar by welding a 50mm rhs section to the top of the front chassis rail where the bullbar sits. I then cut the bottom of the bullbar mount out so it would slide onto the rhs mount. I then had to drill new holes in the bullbar for the mounting bolts. It ...

Mine was doing the same thing. It turned out to be the fuel pump. Runs great on petrol now. I noticed the fuel filter wasn't full of fuel (only about 1/4 full) so it was intermittedly getting petrol, causing it to backfire and run crap, it used to idle ok, but you had to pump the throttle to keep ...

He is running a 2 inch lift with 33 inch tyres. So it sounds like 20 litres -25 is pretty normal depending upon load and right boot.
Spoke to him today and he is going to take the rack off and see how that helps.
Thanks for the replies

I have forgotten what economy he used to get but I am sure it wasn't that bad. The figures are for around town driving. The ...

I think warlords post pretty much says it all, as fair a playing field as you would get. On the tyre issue if these vehicles are going to be running same tracks as the current full comp trucks then you would definetly want to run a simex type tyre to give them the best chance to drive the tracks. If ...

I was looking at modifying the existing mounts like the picture GU Johnno posted. Thanks for the pics. I already have a set of spare front shocks so seemed like a cheaper way to provide better ride quality.
