All solid front axle 4x4 lux's had the 1420 front and 1400 rear wheeltrack,

and figuring that you have 4 identical rims,

and you are measuring from the centre of the rim/tyre to the centre of the other rim/tyre ,

having an increase of roughly 70mm at the front (1420 to 1490) means that ...

with a mild cam and the heads shaved for the rebuild, on the dyno it has >200HP at the rear wheels.Not sure how much more as the guys dyno only went to 200 and it was bouncing his needle.Thats with 4.88 diffs and 33's in 4th gear @ 2500rpm....plenty torquey

G'day

The old GU is cactus(?) have been told its probably the fuel injector pump (probably) but he wasnt sure...checked at fuel filter and no fuel going to the pump..tried to manual prime but nothing happened..have replaced the filter but still no fuel...can anyone tell me how long it should take ...

G'day

Father in Laws GU (Goddamn Useless) has a probable dead fuel pump (ZD30) at least thats what his mechanic mate says...

You turn on the ignition and it sounds like a relay clicking in and out from a short., and the ignition lights on the dash flick on and off, which sounds like a short to me ...

Bloody hell what am i doing on the nissan post...should be stickin to the toyota's....Anyway..father in law just did in the fuel pump on his 3.0td GU (first of the zd30's) 102000k's and just waiting for No.4 cylinder to spit it...Quoted $6000 to replace the fuel pump but would rather spend big ...

yeh the Detroits are great especially for bigger power like a chev transplant ...but i ran lokka's front and rear in an IFS Lux for 4 years, and drove the vehicle very hard and never had a problem...but now with the SAS and Chev 4.3 I.m goin for the detroits..still stayin with the auto lockers!!

wouldnt mind knowin if there was a local supplier, but i run standard hilux unis with a 4.3 v6 chev (200+ HP at the rear wheels) and havent had much problem..just a little binding with the front shaft on droop

r151 bolts to 4runner v6...chain transfer from sr5 g52 bolts but need to change input shaft...r151 has chain drive standard in oz..to bolt gear transfer to r151 need adapter plate and input shaft. g52 wont bolt up and is too weak for v6 anyway.. if you find an import r151 with gear driven T/case ...

the cost of a new set of springs vs getting custom made up is about the same.. i went with 63" springs drilled at 32" from one end at 60mm wide with hilux ends to fit the cheap bushes..4 leaves 10mm thick set at hilux + 8" which settled to about 5" of lift to match my SAS front end.. flex's well and ...

found a decent size hole where there shouldnt a been one and fell in....bent front axle so wheels are like / \ now..bent 90 degree angle in a 7 leaf spring pack and killed me ranchos and the above transfer problem...Hmmmm got all the other parts but gunna need a r151 transfer...shame, i got the g52 ...

Thought the g52 chain might be same as g58....Hmmmm to bad i busted the input on me r151 when i shoved the front shaft out the back of the transfer..

Maaaaate...great engine good horsepower the yamaha twin cam head made a hell of a difference with these motors over the old 18r..plus i've still got a set of twin mikuni 40mm sidedraughts on a manifold that came on one of these...nudge nudge..<GRIN>

you can get a lokka for the lsd..its slightly different than for the front and uses some of the lsd parts... put one in mine..best thing i eva done...least till i get the detroit
