from memory 12-14psi is the lower limit by the book

if you are really worried you can always fit an extra remote oil cooler

20 psi is normal for the TD42 hot at idle...........no problem to fix

wouldnt it be easier to just make a new loom yourself, you dont need much to get the motor to work , all the wires are colour coded so they are easy to trace

considering nissan were selling bare td42 and td42t motors for $5500 not too long ago i would think that was a bit pricey

I'd surely like to know where these are being sold for this price!!!! I priced one recently TD42T was $10500

have you checked if the pistons in the calipers are retracting when you take your foot off the brake?, as it seems this is what is happening,

you cant get a pressure drop unless there is air in the system or the piston has to travel further than normal

my brakes were getting spongey and all the bleeding in the world didnt help, i found that the piston in the caliper was retracting when i took my foot off the brake, seems the rubber seal around the piston was flexing and not sliding as it should , and it ment that the piston on each wheel had to ...

TD42 or TB42??

the lsd will be better for on road driving and tyre wear and safer on road in the wet

the locker will be better off road and easier to get the car sideways in the wet , will also wear out tyres faster on road depending on how you drive

each has its pros and cons although for a daily driven car i ...

I guess im just lost by the fact that the winch line is only X long, the winch is winding it onto the drum....the line is getting shorter...but the distance from the first snatch block is getting further, the distance from the 1st - 2nd snatch block stays the same....the distance from the 2nd-3rd ...

you should be able to do something like this



just remove the threaded pin from the top, and the locator pin from the bottom and stick a bolt through the lot with a big shockie rubber on top to absorb any vibrations

i just fixed mine so it wouldnt break again, i removed the thread and pin from the mount and replaced with a bolt that goes right through it , put a shockie rubber on then a washer and nut, no more vibes and i cant see anyway that i could break it short of a major accident

if you do alot of beach work then stick with the engine fan , i have falcon thermos and although it keeps up on road and in the bush , on the beach it struggles and if i was pushing it hard on the beach im not sure that it would keep up

if your tappets quieten down once the motor has warmed up then i would say they are fine , most motors are a bit noisey when cold and only come into spec when at operating temp , id say leave them and only adjust if it is noisey at running temp

Trying to take lock nut off with 54mm socket........ ended up damaging nut and will now need to replace them. Might look at converting to GU ...

current stereo was in when i bought it - however the issue was as well.

The audio is a seperate circuit - and its working when the fuse is gone...

power is seperate but he may have used the dash light wire for the earth , rip it out and see what happens or atleast change the earth at the rear ...

great effort , but , do yourself a favour and get rid of that pod through the bonnet or be expecting mr plod to be giving you a canary

there is 2 torque settings for fitting new bearings and cones , one to seat the bearing cone in place and one for the bearing tension

i always start at the rear , undo all screwws bolts visable and then the 3 or 4 long screws holding it together then it should just come apart

ive heard people drain out some oil and top it up with engine flush , then go for a drive in an empty carpark and do some figure 8s , or just drive around for a week or so then drain it out
