5" forward is quite a bit. I am planning to go 1.5~2" forward.

I think I got this problem figured out. The motor came out of a Japanese hi-ace van, with the "wings" on the sump. The plan is to cut off the bottom part of that sump and weld on the bottom half of a 22RE sump.

I want to hang on ...

Would the 4x4 rear sump look anything like the sump in these pics?

Here in the USA, 2LT-II's and 3L's were not sold. So I had a problem when I decided to go hy-steer in my 1985 4Runner with a 2LT-II (3L oil pan).

I have an alternator that was shipped to me in the US from AU. It's for a 2LT2.

Problem is I did not get a regulator for it. So now I am trying to adapt a regulator here in the US.

There are three pins in the square plug on the alternator that (I guess) plug into the regulator.

I found the part #'s for the 11v glow plugs. These should also work for the 3L motor. I am posting this for future reference, if someone down the line needs this info.

Yep, those are exactly the part #'s I am looking for.
Still trying to figure out what oil filter this thing uses. It takes a larger thread diameter (around 22mm) than my old "L" and "2L" toy diesels.

none of the filters will fit, they are too small. The thread diameter on the filter needs to be about 22mm. Is it possible that the newer 2LT2's have a larger filter, or maybe it is a difference in the Japanese models?

Actually, this Runner used to be a gasser. I pulled out the 22RE motor, and put in the 2LT2. It does not have any of the diesel wiring at all. For the glow plugs, I was going to use a push-button style switch connected to a ford style starter relay to turn on the glow plugs. This is ...

Doing a 4Runner (surf) swap from a 22RE to a 2LT2. The runner is an 85, and the motor is a 1995 model. Getting close to having it running, and I need some part #'s. (Here in the US, there is no information available for this motor!)

I need the part #'s for 10.5V or 11V glow plugs. ND or NGK part ...

I want to swap to a better turbo than the CT-20 that is on my 2LT-2 motor. I like the ball-bearing design of the Garrett GT series, but don't know which model, or what compressor wheel trim to look for. Any ideas?
