Tire Load Rating

I went to get a quote on some 33's for my SWB Maverick the other day and the guy said what is the load rating on the vehicle plaque as the price varied by $100 per tire based on the rating. I checked my Maverick when I got home and the plaque/sticker is missing and the other one in the glovebox has ...

Short answer...no it will not be legal in qld, it can't be engineered and won't get registered (well probably-there has been some cases where the people behind the desk dont have a clue and an inspection not needed). If you want to keep the lift in then you'll have to first pass registration then j...

Rules and regulations in QLD

I have a mate with a Nissan Patrol which has a 6" coil lift, no BL and 35" tires. All bought parts no 'I made it myself' parts. He currently lives in Sydney and is planning on moving to QLD sometime this year. He asked me the other day if he'll have problems re-regesitering it in QLD. It i...

Confused about diff ratios and power...?

If I supercharge my 1990 Maverick SWB auto with 3.9 diff ratios and run 35" tires will I still need to change the diff ratios, is it a matter of power to run 35's or is it about the crawling ratio. The reason I ask is I'm a little confused, the truck is going to be a weekend toy only not a tour...

You've got the adjustable arms so what have you got to lose by adjusting the angles first. If it still has vibrations you can look at a double carden then. I run a double carden but my lower trailing arms are still longer than standard, as Stu'sBeast has suggested start by extending the lowers 16mm...

Thanks Stu'sBeast and wrxsux, I took a photo last night of the driveshaft angle and talked to Rick at BBM, he said I can dial it out by adjusting the upper trailing arms back in as I have them adjusted out to fit. Plus when I fitted them I had the hand brake on which I believe would stop the diff ro...

I'm posting this up for a mate who's just bought an 80 series Land Cruiser 1993 model GXL 4.5 petrol. He's already booked it in for an LPG conversion, but also wants to lift it to run 35" tires without performing a body lift! His questions to me were: 1. 4" lift or 6" lift kits? 2. Wh...
