Just spotted this if anyone's squashed their tank;

IMHO: Feroza = bigger, more space, more driver comfort. Sierra = cheaper and easier parts, more 4x4 options. Stock standard the Feroza can outperform the Sierra off-road, but it doesn't take much to turn the sierra into an off-road monster. Some of the options you can put on the Suzi are simply not ...

Did something else cause it? That is a question I may be able to answer once I've pulled the head. Possible warped head I suppose. The last time she stopped (before the breakdown that is) there was a disconcerting 'clink' as I walked away from the car, I remember thinking... "funny!" Then drove up ...

Broken camshaft
It's been a while since I've been in here. Poor old feroza is sitting on the road side with a busted camshaft and god knows what else melted/shattered/bent. About to start the autopsy. I suppose I'd best start looking for a new head.
How do you break a camshaft anyway?
Fun, fun, fun.

Not at highway speed and it happens a bit when you're braking? Weird. Sounds like something is moving back and forth. I've had the fan clatter on the fan shroud in the past. Thats the most likely chunk of fast moving plastic I can think of. I'd examine it for fresh wear and play. Otherwise... some ...

Much nicer now that i've replaced the exhaust manifold gasket. No-one in their right mind would have re-used it... but these guys figured that a heap of silicone would fix it. *grrrr* At least crawling around fixing up after thebuggers has allowed me to spot a heap of other little 'suprises' they ...

Would not recommend these guys, except perhaps as a source for parts. Most of the work done looks sound... but on closer inspection... * recycling spring clips on water hoses = water leaks * one of the exhaust manifold bolts was barely finger tight * none of the others were fastened to torque spec ...

Before my 'little altercation' with a tree... I had option 3. The panel beaters replaced it with a generic sail area mirror with control knob (doesn't look daihatsu to my untrained eye). They just attacked the sail area with a ruddy great drill bit (left swarf hanging everywhere of course) for the ...

Hmm... more than a week since I had the truck towed away and they are still 'working' on it. They had better have done a VERY good job when I get it back tommorrow. It seems that 2-3 days means more than a week, if i'd known that, I would have fixed the bugger myself. I've said it before and I'll ...

lol I wonder if one of them 3L skyline motors would fit? It's getting towed away for surgery this morning. Just got a quote on replacement by a crowd in Braeside with a 6 month warranty for $1450 or $2000 installed (goodbye locker budget). death rattle
I got a feeling that i'm in the market for a new donk. The feroza has developed a nasty rattle in what sounds like the bottom end when you rev it over about 2000 and also under various load conditions. It sounds better under heavy load (acceleration or decceleration) than it does under a light one ...

Mine has always drank about 10L/100km, sometimes a little better, sometimes a little worse. Not too much difference between drining open roads or in traffic. The unifilter i installed a month or so back has improved consumption marginally. Hopefully once I get the colly wobbles out of my driveline ...
