If its a 93 or younger then the 15 inch rims will not fit.
!hz has better but not unbelievibly better fuel econemy.
accesories will not fit.

There WAS a recall on the early 80s 1HZ engines with loose dowells behind the timing belt cover but I'm sure thats long been cleared up.

Dosen't have any oil champ . regrease the gearbox on a semi regular basis though.
By the sounds of your post you should maybe seek expert help before messing with the winch though.

If winch is seperate from bullbar is not hard.
Remove two bolts from end of motor and remove cover.
Rusty=shit.
Clean,tidy=good.
Don't think the owner will apreciate pulling apart his winch , especially if something breaks.
Save up and buy a new one instead. :)

please post pics as I have the same dramas and just drilled a new hole to suit the hook. I don't think it's strong enough to snatch off but I have seen pics in a well known Aus 4wd publication where the original tow hooks fit in the holes perfectly.And we all know the carry on with those hooks.ie ...

1991 80s did not come with the 1hd-t as far as I know.Only the 1hz and 3f.
Personelly I would wait for a later model wagon with less kays on board.
Motor rebuild maybe one thing but what about diffs g box and transfer??
Theres plenty of good ones out there , don't jump on the first one.

That fault was common on the older gearboxes pre 80 series, but it's impossible to get cross contamination in the 80 and 100 gearboxes because there's a void between the box and t/case, and each has it's own seal. Did you make a mistake with the model? I concur ,I think badlux has his vehicles ...
