Thanks for the replies guys. I found this on Explore Oz as well. http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Archive/2 ... n%26PN%3D1.
Looks like it can be done without too much drama as well. Makes a nice change!

Tyre Sizes
Simple question. Is it legal to fit 265/75/16 tyres (say Goodyear MTR) to a GU with a 265/70/16 tyre placard? Half the tyre dealers i've spoken to say yes the others say no! Who is right? does anyone know of a standard size tyre in a mud terrain pattern and is it possible to get an engineers approva...

Fitting Winch
Hi all, just fitted a factory steel bull bar to my GU (ARB made I think) and there is a sticker on the top which says you can only fit a Warn XD9000 winch to it. Is this a legal requirement to keep the bar ADR compliant or can I just shove any winch in it?(was thinking T.MAX 9500) any help on this m...

Came back from Inskip around the rocks on Rainbow last Thursday. What used to be a few rocks near the town is now loads of rocks all along the beach and its definatley low tide only stuff! The cuttings are pretty easy going. Managed to get through in my GU Patrol(the wife's claimed the Feroza) with ...

I am an aluminium expert and any workshop should charge no more than $100 tops. It's ten minutes to make up the boss and ten to do the welding. If they try charging you $300-400 US tell'em to p!ss-off. You could get a second hand gearbox for that! If you can get it down to the Sunny Coast I'll do it...

The best way to repair it in my opinion would be to get a machine shop to spin up a bit of ally round bar with a tread in it to suit your drain plug, cut the old one off the gearbox and weld your new one over the hole. I've welded a few up like this and any decent sheetmetal or fab shop that welds a...

Sounds like a problem i've just had. While driving along at highway speeds it's fine but as soon as you get into traffic at walking speed the air started to warm up. Found that the condenser fan wasn't coming on at low speed like it should. The computer wasn't sending a signal to the fan switch to t...

This mod is a must do to any injected Feroza. I know it looks a bit of a bodge job but the gain in power, torque and revs more than make up for its ugly looks! Its just a bit of 3" ally pipe with 45 degree bend in it that tapers down to 2 1/4" where the rubber flex joint fits. Top it of with a $30 f...

Can someone tell me the correct shackle length for a '93 wide track Feroza? Mine measure 120mm centre to centre. Are these extended and if so what should the standard length be?

I know you didn't ask this but if your going up to Double Island then you have to check out a couple of tracks nearby if you get the chance. Inskip Point is up past the Cherry Venture ship wreck, turn left through the cutting (second gear low-range is best approx 3500rpm will see you through the sof...

Update on the Genie headers. $297 fitted. Got quoted $350 supply only!!?? direct from Genie. Since they've been on the exhaust system still sounds like its leaking even though there is no blowing at the joints or gaskets. Must be the way they sound. Slightly better midrange power but a slight flat s...

rear drums
The drums on my Feroza were a complete b*****d to get off! If i remember right they have an M10 fine thread in two holes on the drum face so you can screw a bolt in to draw the drum off the hub. But don't expect the threads to be any good. One side of mine was OK but the other was knackerd. Took me ...

I see you've gone for the light weight, unbraked trailer route. Has anyone here used their Feroza to tow a big camper trailer around the 1000kg mark? And if so, Whats it like towing on the beach in soft sand? Reason i'm asking is 'cos im looking at building my own camper but haven't decided which wa...

Hand brake adjustment
Hi all, Just a quick question on Feroza hand brake adjustment. I've just stripped down and replaced the rear shoes, the handbrake wasn't much good before i started, now its pretty much useless. I thought the adjusters in the drums were automatic but this doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know...
