The V6 3000 is the Paj's best ever engine ... it's a very reliable motor ... of course if you mod it well ... anything can happen. Before Mitsu. closed it's factory dfown in S.A. you could buy a V6 3000 for $3k (plus fitting). This worked out to be the same as reconditioning an old V6 3000 but, of ...

Not much space is left with the 33x12.5 BFG muds. And that is with the 2.8 with the factory body lift. You'll be pushing it on yours Scolers. I run BFG as well. The Bighorns look ok and they are a good size too measuring 32.9 inch's. (for example 33 inch buckshot mudders measure just over 32 ...

Apologies for the partial hijack (still on topic tho' ) ... I have the 31"x10"x15 .. no scrubbing ... how much space is left with your mate who has the 33"x12.5"? I drive an NJ V6 3000. From the way the thread goes I am wanting to do a similar thing as Iceman ... my concern is not so much ...

At this stage I'll be swapping for a new V6 3ltr ... cost works out the same as a recon motor so may get a power chip for the new motor.

Cheers ...

More interested in power as I tow a van at times. To be honest, I didn't realise you could do what you've suggested!

Power Chip for NJ Paj

I am considering replacing either the older V6 3000 with a new one OR reconditioning the original motor. ATM the engine is ok with 230k on the clock but by the time it hits 280k I wouldn't mind having a contingency plan in effect ... if not completed! Vehicle is an NJ 1994 V6 3000 LWB Pajero. I've ...

Also, try reversing for a 20 metres or so ... if your hubs haven't disconnected properly this can help ... always works for me.

Good luck!

I found my NJ Paj was 'ok' in the sand with 235's but as soon as I changed to 31" it pretty well cruised over along.

I found the same thing with it fishi ... need to keep the pressures low ... I'm running same size but Maxxi's.

Cheers ...
