Don't think Warn supply motor parts alone, best bet is to see if an auto elec has something that will fit.

Wurth brake cleaner is the bomb, I've got a few boxes stashed away. Wynns did a better deal (well, flies the service manager to Thailand every year) so we use their rubbish now. Their anti-rust spray is pretty decent too. Anything matte black on my GQ is Wurth. Hate to be paying for it thought! Be ...

Mine is gutless as, almost half a mill on the clock. Not too sure it has much power left to lose. I did an outback trip on 31"s without a drama. Would sit on 120 all day happily, wound it out to 150 without too much effort. In the bush on 32"s it was fine, didn't like hills but that was about it. I ...

I think I've actually overlooked something really simple. Turns out my fold up DVD screen had turned itself on, it did this a bit when I first got the car but hadn't played up since. Turned it off yesterday, started up first shot this morning. I've only used it once since I got the car so I'll just ...

dual battery dramas

Got a dual battery set up in the GQ, nothing fancy, bit of cable between them with a manual switch. Everything is powered off the main battery, if I turn the switch off it osolates the second battery. I usually leave it on, just turn it off of I'm parked with the radio on. Is this a bad set up or ...

Self serve wreckers are the gop, they were a common fit for aftermarket AC in the 80's. I found a 508 on a RWD ...

People just drill and tap the extra hole in the TB42 bellhousing to fit a diesel starter, so at a guess I'd say the petrol starter will just bolt in with an extra hole?

I think I've found the problem. I took all the nuts off the solenoid terminals to clean it all up and the terminals move in and out about a quarter of an inch. It's got nothing to do with the glowplugs because it'll do it at any temp, even if I just turned it off.

The problem right now is the starter solenoid, I'll just buy a new one and hopefully my starter works again.

TD42 starter issue

I've been having some problems of late taking a bit longer to start. Used to start bang on half a turn but lately it's been taking anything from 5 or 6 plus turns. Did a search and it seems RS brushes in the starter are a common problem, pulled it out and stripped it, everything seemed ok just a bit ...

Get that on the dyno ASAP. Something very wrong there. My TD42 is tired as all hell (450,000km and the blowby to prove it) and does 750 km a tank easy. It'll pull 150 kph no worries.

GQ front panhard brace recall

What was the exact problem behind it? The factory panhard mount coming completely off?

I'm putting onboard air on and running a second compressor below the injector pump. It's fouling on the brace, wondering if it'll be alright to grind a bit of meat off the brace.

That's the one you want.

94 build will have Smartlock which will give you dramas. Either find a non-smartlock ECU (pre october 92) or Ford sell a bypass unit.

The injector pump on my GQ is absolutely pissing out so it's time for a rebuild. Got quoted $1800 for pump rebuild and reco injectors, with me ripping everything off (got no dramas doing that). That run of the mill pricing? Also got quoted $500 to supply and fit a boost comp. Debates over if they're ...

Any signs a TD42 will show that it's on it's last legs? Or nothing other than a comp test?

What about the RB30s? As gutless as everyone makes them out to be? For the price of slapper VLs these days I imagine an EFI conversion wouldn't be too expensive, but are they any good off road without a turbo?
