1KD Carbon Deposits in Intake

Just a bit of a heads up. My 08 Hilux has been running like a bag of shit lately, between gear changes it feels like it had really severe turbo lag, and getting off the mark too was a bit average. Thinking about it too, when I towed the camper about 6 months ago it was pretty average too. So I ...

Rims

Does anyone know what these rims are? They are branded Toyota and I think they came off a Landcruiser/Prado? They say 15x7JJ8 and have a set of 31X10.5 Duelers on them. They seem to fit on my KUN26R Hilux on the front, haven't checked the back yet. Does anyone know if they will go on a new style ...

Re: Hilux CT20 Turbo oil seal replacement / Rebuild - How To

Hi,

Something I learnt when I had to spend time in a turbo room - when removing the compressor wheel nut use a T bar, using a ratchet can pull it to the side and damage it.

Re: LN65 Dual Cab Hilux with VN Series 2 V6 Heating issues

Seems funny it's overheating on the highway when you should have good airflow

Whats the water pump like? Maybe pull it off and have a bit of a gander?

As you said the only other thing it could be is that the hot air is being trapped, maybe it needs a shroud above the radiator or something??

Hi mate, If you really can't use the Mazda ECU it might be worth trying something like this - http://www.globaldensoproducts.com/em/dem/crs/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I've had a little bit to do with this Nippon Denso system, it seems alot more basic than other common ...

Re: Trouble starting Hilux

Yeah mate, pumping the pedal won't do much. Probably best to grab a cheap multimeter from Supercheap or something and do some simple tests. Check the battery without cranking. 12.4 volts or higher. Check the battery while cranking. Should be about 10 volts or so, depending on the draw. Inspect your ...

Re: Diesel Mech Help - Advise Required - They Seized My 80!

Sounds like they left a hose off. Pretty wild hosing the engine down tho.

It won't be hard to fix mate, they will just order a VRS kit, and replace the bent rod. It may have a couple bent valves too, they are cheap.

Re: 3L 2.8 diesel - injector pump replacement: HOW TO?

Hi mate,

Where is the pump actually leaking from? I had a problem with my pump a few months ago, there is a blanking plate on the side of the pump that sits up against the block. There is a little o-ring that sits inside it, mine was buggered. I had to pull the pump out to replace the o-ring tho.

I put 4 Runner seats in my cab, to get rid of the bench. It fits perfectly on the passenger side, but on the drivers side only 3 bolts fit...you can make a bracket up for the fourth.

I've always wanted to see a 4wd with hydrostatic drive, it's such a damn good idea. If you've ever operated hydrostatic dozers/loaders, they are so torquey. He's also gone closed loop so he doesn't need a big ass reservior.

I reckon it's the future, either hydrostatic drive or electric drive.

Spring washers are used so the nut or bolt push up against the thread, thus locking it. I saw that description by the NASA manual, and it's wrong. A spring washer is at it's most effective when fully compressed, as all springs are.

Unblock your breather, clean the leak, if it's still leaking then yes you need a new seal. Sometimes they stop leaking when the breather is cleared, more often not tho.

Don't turn it. Thats such a stupid idea, when they're built, they're balanced. And if you go changing it, you're going to throw the balancing out. You can check for yourself, if you open it up, check the back of the wheels they should have gouge marks from where they are balanced. So basically, your ...

It'll probably a smoke a bit too if it's been wound up.
