gu steering box and gq front end

i've just replaced my gq steering box with a gu and have a gq front end still. i have a heavy duty gq tie rod but not sure if i will be able to find the correct ends to fit the pitman arm on one side and the gq fitting on the other. i would rather not bore out the gu pitman arm. any advice?

GQ steering off centre but nothing bent.....?

after hitting a stump last weekend, the steering wheel is now at about 90 degrees to where it should be. nothing's bent: drag link is straight, column is straight, box isn't leaking...do i just take the wheel off and put it back on straight? any ideas?

just wondering if anyone knows how to stop the hazy stuff from building up on the inside of a windscreen? it's a new car and i've used everything to try and stop it but it keeps coming back. i travel a lot of km's, like about 1200km per week and with all the recent hot weather, wonder if it's got an...

punctures - on one side more than the other???

just wondering if anyone reckons punctures happen on one side of the car or another more? i.e. does the passenger side cop more punctures cos you can't see/judge that side as well as the drivers side? the reason i'm asking is i have pedes x4 but now need a spare and as pedes are directional, wonderi...

i've got a td42 and i had some but not all of the problems you have. i had white smoke on start up and a biatch to crank over. no leaking coolant though. the problems: split fuel line and poor earth. $50 later and so far, it's all good.

going with the resistance theory, more agressive tread also means more friction on the road surface. more friction = more force to spin = more fuel used. if you had 35" road pattern and 35" simex pedes, you'd still use way more fuel with the pedes as the tread creates more friction which m...

truck bits in dandenong. they're about $30 or so each. I got one 90deg bend and two 45deg bends, 8 clamps for around $100. add that to the $12 i paid for 2 metres of pipe, a few man-hours and that's a cheaper and better looking snorkel than anything @RB sells! oh, and make sure you get the clamps th...

i have the same problem, but mine is a bit more than a weep. it's because there's no sulphur in diesel fuel anymore and the older pump seals relied on this to be maintained in a functional manner. now no sulphur = corroding seals. you can get the seals replaced for around $300-400 at a shop, or an o...

the answer is: one day! saturday arvo (3 hrs) for the body lift and sunday morning for the springs. the body lift was far easier than i thought, the two back bolts were a breeze to get out, only needed an old hair dryer to heat 'em up. now for the guard chop to fit my 36"s and snorkel, bar and ...

you need to take the front seatbelt mounts off to get to the mid body mounts as they are directly underneath the seatbelt retractor.
