Thanks guys.

I have had it welded up again by a guy with suitable talent, but as this is the second time I just don't trust it.

I'm looking for a wrecked replacement presently. Looks like more time under it rather than in it again.

cheers

Cracked Axle Housing

Hey guys I need a bit of feedback. I have an 89 NG with a coil rear end. I have cracked the weld that runs around the axle housing about half way between the diff and the wheel. I had it welded up once, but I think the diff oil has contaminated the steel and the welding is less than sucessful. I've ...

For my two cents worth, I'm running Copper ATR's. I don't know if sizes are availble for your 4B but I'm quite happy with them. Great on road, wet or dry. Apparently the central rib running around the tyre helps with directional stability. Excellent wear, I've done 15K and they look like new. Consis...

I have an alloy bar, and sadly no winch. The T Bars where un-branded, simply painted yellow with direction reference marks on them. 4WD Systems do a couple of kits. One is for standard height, essentially an OE replacement kit. The second is a heavier duty kit to cater for loads. It's the latter I g...

Removed my aftermarket torsion bars today and simply put the stock items back on. I got a kit from 4WD Systems and fitted a month or so ago. The coils are OK, Foam Cell shocks are great but the T Bars are like railway tracks. No amount of tweaking could get anything beyond rock solid ride. Very disa...

Thanks for all the info guys. I actually have a GEN-1 (89 - NG).

I rang one of the local 4WD workshops that do a bit of Pajero work. They indicated pressing would be required. Guess I'll find out soon. Bearing kits have arrived.

If need be, I have a shop on stand-by to do the pressing.

Rear bearings and seals

I am starting to get some nice oil stains on my rear rims. Time to do the bearings and seals. Has anyone got any advice on the replacement of rear wheel bearings and seals? Any tricks to consider? Do I have to get the bearing races pressed onto the axle at a machine shop? Any help or tricks to consi...
