i had the same problem, i took it to stageco. stereo installers and they fixed it up for me for $5. my mate thought he knew what he was doing and did not solder and i could not hear his radio from three metres away.

the 305x70s should be wider and higher than 285x70 as the first number refers to the width and the second number refers to a percentage of the width as a hight. if that makes sense
