Re: 38s on gq
I only have 37's on mine with a two inch lift, but I have a mate with 40's on his with a two inch lift, so 38's should fit with no lift if you are happy to trim your guards heaps.
Re: GQ Exo's
what happened to high rolling? I remember both of them being cut into utes with wheel base extensions. I saw the blue one out at St Clair about 2 years ago I think they are long gone now. A lot of the guys that were involved back then have moved on to other things. I lost contact with most of them ...

Re: GU Patrol - 2" Lift, What else is required???
The two things you mention plus you might also have to correct the castor with drop arms or offset radius arm bushes if the steering is too direct. I would also fit stronger lower rear control arms as the standard ones are easily damaged if you use it offroad. You can also replace the panhard rods ...

Re: Motorcycle bluetooth headset
My wife and I use the Sena SMH10 on our bikes and they work well. We can be hundreds of metres apart and still hear each other clearly, even at high speeds. We rode home from the Vic border in heavy rain and they still worked the whole way. At $400 a pair they might be a bit expensive for what you ...

Re: will standard GQ cv's handle locker & 35's
I ran a locker with 37s for years without breaking a CV. It all depends how you drive. Now that I have Cal CVs I don't bother turning the locker off to change direction and can load one wheel up more than I ever would with standard CVs. Drive like a tool and you can break them easy, drive smart and ...

Did this ever happen? yep. I made it and have the parts for another one, but its not really a nissan thing so it seems, not enough really interested. Maybe we just didn't know about it. How many people were needed for there to be enough interest and what did the cost work out to be? It might be ...

Re: Diff gears for 37's on GQ
I run 37's all the time and have 4.6 gears but I also have 85% reduction gears in the transfer. 4.6's are a good combination for me because of the transfer reduction offroad but 4.8 diff gears would be closer to standard ratios and would be a better choice if you have standard transfer gears. Mine ...

Re: 35" or biger tyres on 3" lifted gu?
JTop ran 38's with his 3 inch lifted GU but they were a narrow offset so they tucked up under the guard. I've seen plenty running 36's with no problems on smaller lifts in GU's, they have bigger wheel arches than GQ's so you will fit your 35's easy.

Re: GQ rear lights go out when on high beam
I quickly checked tonight and the taillights don't work at all. I still have brake lights, reverse lights and indicators, but no taillights, high or low beam. I checked the fuse and it's fine but it was too dark to start chasing a short or a bad earth. The driving lights have power from the relay ...

GQ rear lights out
Just recently I had pointed out that my taillights on my GQ go out when I put high beam on. I also just recently realised my driving lights no longer work either. I haven't had a chance to track down the problem yet but has anyone got an idea of where to start?

Re: Swb gq drive line vibration
5 inches is a lot on a shorty without a double carden joint. Some have managed to adjust their arms enough to get the vibrations to an acceptable level but plenty of others haven't. You have a few options: 1 Fit a double carden joint at the transfer end of your driveshaft and rotate your rear diff ...

Why? If it's to get clearence for tyres you are better off trimming your wheel-arches. There are a lot of reasons to not do a body lift in a Patrol.dibbo wrote:i am planning to do a body lift on my GQ SWB TB42 Auto

Move the diff forward with radius arm spacers. My 37's cleared with a 4 inch lift even before I trimmed the guards. They only just touched at full compression and full lock so you hardly have to trim anything at all.

I've got a 4 inch in mine but wish it was only 2-3 inch lift. For the hassle of fixing the driveline issues you are much better staying with a two inch lift.

Also the there shouldn't be any need to change the body mounts. If you where to add to the chassi. I think that would just be a head fark trying to get the body back on. As the chassi is now longer. Look for pics of some of the winch challenge MWB GQ's. Most are a std body with the wheel archs/tubs ...
