If you braced on top you should also be able to get more triangulation, and any beam like structure will add more stifness if it is in tension or compression than bending eg top or bottom as opposed to front or back. If there is enough cross section in the brace it shouldn't fail by buckling, From ...

I have an 88 rangie hiline and recently my indicators decided they don't want to work anymore. I have taken the stalk appart and it doesn't appear burnt out or anything. standard landcruiser seating

Originally we had an petrol 01 100 series landcruiser which was great, but when the engine shat itself we sold it and got an 04 v8, which for our purposes was a step backwards, so now that sold. Our dilema now is that we really don't want to go older than 2003, but still want solid front end. The ...

Motorbike in a defender

as the title suggest has anyone tried this, obviously with the back seat down, and what is the limiting factor, im guessing height. The reason Im asking this is that im thinking of selling my rangie for either a county/defender or a dual cab lux. Even though we have a trailer it would be handy to ...

Air filters

I did a service on the old rangie on the weekend and went to repco to get a new air filter. They didn't have a listing, but the guy told me he sold a customer a navara filter which he assured me would work. Beuty I thought, went home and it does fit, but instead of the air going through the filter ...

yeah ive had that happen. It turned out it was coming out of that little hole behind the pulley. I think it was a brether hole, can't really remember. I do remember that you can't just clog it up, cause it's the seal behind it. They also aren't rebuildable. For about 150 bux just get a new one for ...

Stupid thing kicks into 4th gear at 80km/h then it does 1100 rpm and is gutless. I think im actuall getting worse fuel consumption cause it revs to ...

V8 cruiser gas conversion

Had a quick search but couldn't find anything. Dad has just bought an 03 V8 landcruiser and we were wondring what peoples opinions were on converting these to gas. The dealer reckons they have trouble with those engines. Having said that I run my 88 rangie on gas and wouldn't have it any other way.

I came back from doing a ski season in america after 3 months today, in which my rangie wasn't driven. I took her out for a spin today and the auto (zf) would't go into 3 or overdrive, it just revved in second. this caused the motor to overheat and so i had to limp home. It then started workin for ...
