I am on your side by the way But on the radiator, they need to be able to keep the engine cool with a decreased air flow rate. With the lack of room in the lux people like myself, and others, have had heaps of trouble getting in good air flow. My radiastor in something with good air flow would ...

Switch wire for my Dual battery system

Hi all, My dual battery system consists of: A relay, a solenoid, the batteries, a pull button switch. When the relay gets closed, power goes to the solenoid, the solenoid joins the batteries. All is good. To close the relay, I used to have 2 options. One was to pull a pull button switch in the cab ...

I actually just called Mark's adapters. The manager was busy but I had a chat with the guy on the phone (Andrew). The point of the call was just to advise that this topic was here. They had heard something but hadn't looked it up yet. I think that forums like this are well in there rights (and ...

And ADD is okay, better if you remove it but if you don/t just ensure you don't turn on 4wd on the fly.

A rear facing scope won't cause any pressure problems (that is the way I went). It will allow the hot air to be sucked out of your engine bay and reduce the pressure within - thus increasing air flow through the radiator. This was my point. If your hot air is meant to flow underneath the firewall ...

I'm looking at the same conversion for my lux. I was thinking of following a conversion from the states witch used the auto out of the surf with the bell, input shaft and oil pump out of the 1uz auto. There are also HEAPS of how to's on the internet (read lextreme.com) to make the A340 series (surf ...

power I disagree with ... The same engine, etc. Tyres, lockers and terrain - you may have a point. But I have a very strong and logical defence against that comment. it is however, in my other briefcase. So in conclusion, I haven't heard anyone actually with a UZ Auto in a 4x4 complain. Oh and ...

I guess for Racer, who does want a comp truck, that is an important reason. I didn't think the part of the starter motor would be and a weekend warrior doesn't need to worry too much about the kind of gearing you are talking about (unless he wants to). Certainly ny way is not expensive. I am selling ...

Scott (my sparky) runs Venom Cobras and has been wiring 1UZ engines for ... years, I am thinking 10 or more. Since Twisty's he had done several hilux conversions. But from the guy who modded the Surf auto I bought: “The auto does need more than the bellhousing, the front end (inpur shaft/plenatary/ ...

I went the Surf box first, and changed to the UZ auto mid conversion. The primary reason: The Surf auto is controlled differently to the 1UZ auto and therefore my sparky was going to have to run my old Surf ECU for the Auto, a UZ ecu to control the engine and frankenstein the 2 to eachother. With no ...

There are 2 reasons why running an auto behind the 1uz is bad. One is the location of the starter motor. If you are out in the bush and the starter shits its self then its not an easy thing to unbolt and replace, or even get to to give it a tap, remember you have an auto so no tow/roll starting it ...

The 2L and 3L engines are exactly the same block, the only difference is the capacity. A 2L-T and a 3L-T are the same engines with Turbos attached. This means that not only will your starter, etc, all still suit but you should be able to bolt on the turbo, etc, and still have a turbo engine. However ...
