Well that's the first window motor in an 80 I heard of that's given up. At least now you know what the problem is and I guess you're off to the wreckers to find a new one.

Exactly what I said, check the wiring B4 pulling the motor. I've fixed a few with this problem now, never had to pull a motor.

I guess we've had the opposite expereince with the same problem.

As they are electric ensure first that the power is getting to the actuator motor.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to pull the motor appart until you've eliminated all the other options. The wiring that goes from the body to the door is constantly being worked (bent) every time the door is opened and closed. Often this wiring breaks internally without breaking the outer clastic cover ...

A lock Right solid locker in the rear will cost about A$400 including postage from the US if you get it from Rocky Road Outfitters, you'll find them on the US E-bay site. Great guys to deal with.
