Replacing sump gasket on td4.2

Hey all, Looks like I've got a bit of oil leaking from around the sump, just wanting to know if this can be replaced without lifting the motor at all. Just by having a quick look, I reckon it shouldn't be too hard, but thought there would be plenty of people here that have done it themselves. thanks ...

Thanks bushy,
That info is very helpful. I'll send you the 10 bucks later today for the instructions. I'll make my final decision after I read them. I saw the 55W kit on ebay, reckon they would be pretty awesome, I'll see if I can find out a bit more about them.

Thanks again.

Thanks heaps simon, I'll send him a PM and give them a shot. The XGT's are probably the best lights I've ever owned, but if they can be made better, I'm keen.

Thanks.

Simon, how much did you have to modify your lights? Do you think your lights will still seal water/dust out? And does the finished light look professional or does it end up looking like it has been hacked at? Some photos of the finished product would be awesome. Bogged, Mate, I did the search, found ...

Didn't need instructions, worked the search bit out for myself. Still can't seem to find anyone that has done the conversion themselves, to get an opinion. I don't want to end up with a light that looks dodgey, lets moisture in etc etc, they are pretty good as they are. Also, is the reflector on an ...

Converting Lightforce XGT's to HID?

Hi all, Checked out a website that is selling instructions to convert XGT's to run HID globes. http://www.angelfire.com/on4/bushy5551/xgt.html Just wondering if anyone here has done this and how much work is involved. I'm not real keen on taking to my lights with a 19mm drill bit and siliconing up ...

Took the Patrol for a drive last night, the lights are a fair bit brighter, but the light is also a lot whiter than it was. You can really notice it with the spread beam, it lights up the side of the road heaps better now.

Thanks for all the help.

How do you dip your lights for oncomming traffic with no relays? You don't run all that current through the factory lighting swithes do you?

OK, so the wiring is all done. Used 6mm (50Amp) wire for both earth and power, from the battery, through the 30Amp fuse, 70Amp relay, through to where I had to split into two wires, one for each light. From there I used 4mm (15Amp) wire. I am now measuring a 0.16 Volt drop from battery to lights ...

With the lights unplugged there is no voltage drop at all, with them pluged in and the wires running hot, the voltage drops heaps, the further along the circuit I check, the more it drops, up to more than 1.5V from battery to lights. I'm going to get some heavier guage wiring and give that a shot. I ...

Thanks for that, I've measured the resistance between the +'ve connector that goes on the battery, through the relay (switch closed, as if lights where on), through the fuse, to the plug that goes into the back of the lights, measured 0.7 Ohms, which is about right I think. The earth wire goes from ...

Lightforce XGT's not as good as they should be.

Hi all, Having a few problems, (I think), with my new set of Lightforce XGT spotties. They were installed at an ARB shop so should be done properly. The problem I have is that they are not as bright as I think they should be, I have ridden in a mates car with a set of Blitz 240's and they where ...

Hey guys, New to this forum and this is probably not the best choice for my first post here, but chimpboy is correct in everything he has tried to explain to you. Most of you seem to be thinking of each component in the cooling system as an individual item not as part of a complete system. Yes, the ...
