Ah crap. Just noticed the date this was posted.
Oh well might help someone in the future who knows how to search.

Sounds like the tranny is in "hydralic only" mode. I read that if the computer lost control this is how it would operate.

Re: Land Cruiser 3.7 diff ratio

Off the top of my head I think the manual 80's released in Europe had 3.9's or 3.7's. Autos were the standard 4.11's.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry for the thread dredge, but what ended up happening to this?
How many of these coolers are out there now?
Are they still a success story?
Was there ever one made for the Toyota 1HD motors?

Re: Autolocker in full time 80

No, a fulltime 80 has an open centre in the front not an lsd nor a autolocker. Bad bad idea. Its the same for my mates old 80 series with fulltime 4wd and a lockright lokka. Wasnt pretty. Even when front shaft was removed. The ONLY way you can run them without getting huge backlash is by running ...

Re: Autolocker in full time 80

I always thought it was a bad idea to put an auto locker in a full time 4wd vehicle?

I've read that everywhere but I dont realy know why?

The way I see it working is when going in a straight line, nothing would be any different to normal. But when going round a corner the centre diff will be ...

Re: ACSD removal

As Simon said.

Just I think he forgot to mention that if it is working properly it makes no difference to pump timing ect once the coolant is at working temp and they are normaly removed when they bugger up as the cost for a new one is upward of $350 and not realy needed in warmer climates.

I have ...

I'm not sure the manual box can handle the torque of the twin turbo setup, hense the auto only option.

I think in South africa (or some where not Oz) you can get a 200ser with a manual but it only has the single turbo motor.

then you have the computer problem as above.

Depends how custom you want it Mick.

Part time KIT would be easier.
But if you want something like a PTO drive, then I think you might need a part time BOX.
Then you need to sort out the transfer lever vs the diff lock push button etc.

I made some horns out of 10mm plate that was welded to the front outside of the chassis to mount my TJM bar off the front of my old lux, after i nearly plucked the bullbar off it one time.

I cut the front body mounts off and plated the chassis about 400m back both sides. The plate D/S went above ...

If the cv's have been replaced they may be constant 4wd ones wich could be longer than the part timers, and the locking ring in the hub may not move completely off of the spline.

If the later model FWH are made for this extra length ignore my post.
(can anyone tell me if they are?)
