I may be using the wrong term, but i understand it as the wearing of the splines. ie them becoming lose. links http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fretting" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/693/fretting-wear" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: td5 or v8

I have both :? V8 is in an 03 D2a Manual. Pro's - nice to drive - sounds great - relatively good economy on a run (13-15l/100) - smooth, quiet, and refined. Goes ok when thrashed, cheaper to buy and service. Con's - more hoses under the bonnet than I ever though would be required. - will need head ...

Re: Another 9.5XP vs M8274

I had 9.5xp's front and rear to start with. After about 3 months, I sold the front one and fitted an 8274-50. A bit later on I swapped the motors around. Personally I would go the 8274. Mine has now been on for a good few years, never even been looked at, and always works perfectly. IMO the xp is ...

Decided to drop down from a 285 on the disco as I have the Krawlers on my 90 for playing and dont really need 'big' tyres on this too!

Springs next weekend all being well to give them a run.

I'd say go for A Disco aswell. if possible get a 2003 d2a onwards with the later type head lights. We have a 2003 d2a v8 manual which we bought last November, with a lot of mods (sahara colour coded bar, warn xd9000 winch, snorkle, LF240's, 33's, sliders, Alloy roof rack, etc , 1 owner, fsh and at ...

As Garry has said very capable. Based on the D3/D4 platform, but with slightly less rear overhang.

Ediff is a rear locker and was an option.

You will be looking at around 05 / 06 for that money looking at carsales.

I would have said it was a very different car to the Jeep.

Roll cage hardware

Hi All, I am after some saddle, and pin and eye mounts for some additions to my roll cage, similar to the ones on the attatched link. Does anyone know anywhere over here where I can get some? This is just for some extra protection bars, and I wanted to be able to mount them. My random google-ing ...

I'd go a Disco1 or a Classic RR.

Probably a 300tdi D1 which would be cheap to run, are pretty reliable, good offroad, ok on road etc. Also not bogan atall.

Tons of bits available and easy to work on too.
