Nah, it shouldn't create problems. I have been running a pod on my 16v vit for quite a while (took a lot of plumbing out for my supercharging project, as it was getting in the way) The pod is only temporary. The only thing that I found it bad, is that mine is not supported very well, and the pod ...

Btw, does anyone know if you can connect the existing four wire O2 sensor to a standard single wire one? I know that the four wire ones on the Vit, have a heater in them to get them up to temp faster, but there is still only one signal out, so I am wondering if I can just connect that to another ...

Enginer Stuttering / shuddering at 2300 rpm (vit)
My Vit seems to stutter or shudder at about 2300 rpm. It happens when my foot is at about 1/3 throttle. But goes away when I take my foot off or press it down full. I have an air fuel ratio meter in the car, and I can see the mixture going normal, none (i.e. when the engine is at vacuum), normal ...

Hi guys, After a 2 hour drive to Queenstown for some snowboarding last weekend, my oil has lost it's milky look and the catch can was overflowing with dirty water. I checked the radiator fluid again, and it still doesn't have any oil in it, and no water has been consumed. So this all leads me to ...

We did have a day out doing a 4wding course, but that was just driving up slippery slopes etc, littles puddles of water etc. But no full on water crossings. I can't think of anything places water could get into the engine, apart from the intake obviously, but I would have thought any water that got ...

Water in my engine oil
Hi, I was just having a quick check of my engine last night, and there seems to be water in my oil. (oil has gone milky) I checked the radiator and there is not oil present there, and it is not using any water. The engine is running fine, and I haven't noticed any power issues or funny sounds. So I ...

Sorry to hijack the thread a little. But I am just wondering why you are specfically wanting to put an auto box in with the CA18DET? I have always preferred manual, and I always though manual was better for 4wding.... then again, I have only been 4wding myself for a year or so, so I may be missing ...

Yeah, the whole time I had been looking for an actual nut. But it was a round 'nut', which you need a special tool for, but a couple of screws drivers in the holes, and wa-la. No more bearing movement!!! Well, hopefully not enough for them to fail me again on the warrant. So yeah, I ended up getting ...

Thanks for that, its given me hope that it is possible. I went to the mechanic today to see if he had time, and he said 'umm, maybe end of next week', so that's useless. So I might get an impact driver and see what happens, otherwise, drill it out and hope it works. I might post a pic tonight, to ...

I went to buy an impact driver today, but the bits look too big. I might just bit the bullet and get a mechanic to do it!!!, cos I am running outta time at the moment. Front Wheel Bearing Locking Plate Screws
Hi, I was trying to tighten my wheel bearing nut, but before I could to it, I had to remove a round plate that covers it. Secured with four screws. (I have a 93 Vit). But the screws have been stuffed. Any ideas on how to get the plate off so I can tighten the bearing??? I need to tighten it for my ...

Vitara Power Steering Unit (?)
Hi, Just went for my WOF and they picked up a couple of things, ball joint needs fixing, easy, tighten wheel bearing, easy (I think), tighten rear suspension bush, easy, But they also said my power steering unit was leaking (the bit which directly attaches to the steering arms etc). Anyway, has ...

Hi, I have done the same thing, But I finally got mine off without rounding the nut part too badly. I just used lots of CRC (I guess you lot call it WD40) and a ring spanner, which I hit many times with a hammer. But I would recommend heat, but try to heat the manifold more than the sensor (I think ...

Changing into 4wd while rolling in a Vitara
Hi, I read the little instructions beside my transfer case stick a while back and it said you can change from 2wd to 4wd while rolling if the front wheel are straight. Well, I have tried it with varying degrees of success. Sometimes it goes in straight away, no probs, no grinding etc, at about 25km ...

Hi, Thanks for that info, how much boost were you running? Do you know what your fuel conditions were like? I put some S13 springs into the back of my LWB Vitara, and I got about 20mm of lift. So they may be too soft for a LWB, I did some rough checks of the spring rates, by loading the back with about 65kg of weights, and the S13 spring rates are softer than the stock LWB ones. So that will account for ...
