Hi guys, some helpful people on here have been great making suggestions but still stumped.

The batts work well when new but they/range dies too quickly.
I'll have a think about this one as as you say the car may effect the signal.etc

Hi Guys,

Batteries go flat in the garage/gate remote like nothing else.
is hardwiring the remote into the car's 12v a bad thing? i'd hope it would boost the range :)
seriously though, is it as simple as a resistor inline then connected to the remote control's battery +/- terminals?

the above is DOT legal/approved, however a CAMS cages are impossible to get approved street legal in QLD because of the side intrusion bars that must be fitted.

You can definitely engineer wider diffs in qld, the rule about track width increases is in regard to wheel offsets and the use of spacers etc.
engineer i spoke to said it had to be within regs 50mm increase wms to wms of the vehicle receiving them before you even consider offsets.
