OK, just had a look at the parts diagram of the manifolds from mitsubishi. Can see what you mean with the butterflies now, my preferance is to fix or machine up a new seal so will skip that idea now. Will pull it apart when I get a chance and measure it all up to make a new one that seals then ...

Ok hopefully someone here can help out. I have a 97 NK Pajero with the 3.5l 6G74 motor. It has developed a vacuum leak where the butterfly shaft comes out of the middle section of the inlet manifold. Mine is the gls and the seats are fine around town but looking at setting it up for touring, figured for the cost of reapolstering (have a mate that gave me a price through his work) I could get something better. Not to concerned about the engineering side of things as a few other changes planned ...

I use the Bosch stupid level at work, I think there is a new model out now that can tell mm/metre so getting that last .5 of a degree is easier. They seem to handle the knocks that a heavy fabrication workshop dishes up well.
