Re: Battle of the States Rover Park

G'day Guys,
I'm trying to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer, primarily at BOTS this year and hopefully for the next few years.
Can you give me hand please.
Just by word of mouth.
For people not attending Battle of the States here is a link.

I've just fitted a set of 315/75r16 cooper STT's on 16x8 alloys.
The diff gears have been changed to 4.6's so back to relativelt stock gearing.
Th patrol is now a play thing and is rarely driven unless offroad but even when it was a daily driver I only had 33" MT/R's no extra set of 'road' tyres. I ...

Just use radial 35's for wheelin, then you don't hafta worry about swappin them back for highway use.
I don't see the sense in having 2 sets of tyres.

You can do other stuff to improve ur approach and departure angles.
Mines got 4"+2" on 33's and goes most places much larger cars go.
It's not always what you have but how you use it.

I also like th Drop boxes over castor plates.
I haven't fitted longer lower arms (no bad vibes) but am currently ...

Well I've had mixed results....

Trimmed the 2" from the bottom of the bottom hose and this smoothed out th bend nicely.

'Adjusted' the thermostat that came out of it and checked the results on the stove.
Seemed to me that it started opening at the same temp but didn't open as far.

So I fitted the ...

I used to use castor plates then changed to Drop boxes and have never used drop arms.

The biggest reason I like the boxes is the way the car 'mounts' obstacles.

The greater the angle from the front axle to where it's mounted at the chassis the harder ir will be to drive up onto something.....
The ...

Something I noticed on mine this weekend whilst fiddling about.
The radiator hasn't been lowered 2" to allow for the body lift.
The shroud has been lowered, this means that the top 2" of the radiator isn't really being used.
The back is blocked by the panel holding the shroud.
It also means that ...

with thermostats it isnt the spring that controls the temp but the pin in the middle on the other side , so where this pin sits is normally curved and is held in by two tags either side , what i did was to straiten the curves abit by squashing it and thus making it higher , i also took out that ...

In the case of a steel wheel beadlock there can be no circumfrential?? welds.
For an alloy wheel tho, if Simmons or other multi piece wheels are legal I can't think of a reason beadlocks shldn't be other than lack of testing as stated.
