Thanks for all those who have replied. I am surprised regarding the feedback for body lift. I know that a GQ is different but I was quite happy with the 2' lift combined with the 2' suspension lift and 35's as they worked well and they only thing they could get me for was the 35's however they were ...

I currently own a TD42 Gq and was looking to go to the GU 4.2 TD but they are just too expensive. For around 15K less I can get a 4.8 which would make up for the fuel use i suppose. What are the auto's like? I hear they are not too bad as you can drive them like a manual for down hill use etc. Cheers

Why are there a lot of GU 3 litres with new engines?
I have been looking at 3 litre GU's and found a few have had there engines replaced especially around the 2000 model. What was the problem? Anything to look for. Thanks.

GAS/PETROL OPTION
Thanks for the reply silver bullet. I will give the gas/petrol option the flick. It is interesting to hear comments about the great fuel economy of the GQ 4.2 diesels. Mine is shit. I suppose the 35's and the fact it has been raised 4 inch and has a winch, roofrack, roller draws, fridge etc has a ...

Chasing some info from the GU guru's out there. My GQ TD42 wagon although running well and performing well in the scrub with the twin LSD's, 35's and suspension mods just shits me when towing when fully loaded with the camper trailer up hills. Considered turboing (just ticked over the 300 thou mark ...

How do I secure my Lighforce's?
Just upgraded to Lightforce. I heard there are special lock nuts out there to secure to the bull bar. Where is the best place to get them from?
I also noticed that it is easy to unscrew the adjustable lens assembly. Has anyone heard of how to secure this?
Cheers
Craig

Try a 120 amp alternator
I needed more amps for my GQ Diesel and after much investigation with various units and inquiries regarding rewiring etc I found a 120 amp alternator to replace the dodgy 65 amper from an electrical importor in Brisbane. Cost me almost $600 at trade price. Had the vacum pump and all I had to do was ...

problem bleeding GQ Clutch
I noticed the clutch slave was leaking on the TD 42 so I kitted it as well as the master and blew old fluid from lines and replaced. After 500ml of fluid the clutch still won t work. Short quick depresions will build up pressure and allow the clutch to operate however when released it goes back to ...

TD42 Alternator
Yeah I grabbed a spare petrol one I had and tried to find a place to pu it but there's no room especially when I will be turboing in the future. Who did you get to do the work. Were they in Brisbane. I wouldn't mind contacting them. You mentioned the smaller pulley. This makes sense as my alternator ...

Another Alternater Question but for a TD42
I have read the recent forums regarding alternators but it appears they were only for petrols. Does anyone have ideas regarding beefing up the 60amp TD42 GQ alternators. The 60 just doesn't cut it with allmy accessories.
Thanx
Craig
