Re: 2.8 diesel hilux issues
Have you done an oil change? 3L engines are renowned for glugging up causing poor lubrication and eventually big end failure, next time you do an oil change make sure there is at least 5ltrs that comes out, if not that will indicate a problem like the oil has broken down and turned into a jelly like ...

I would replace them all even the one on the back of the engine which means taking it out removing the flywheel and sandwich plate to access it. Make sure you get brass or stainless plugs.

Re: Converting Import Prado from electric hubs to free wheel
no pics of the car it's a freinds car he got stuck on Moreton island, 4wd was'nt working so he asked if I could change it to manual hubs. At first I thought too easy! just unbolt the electric ones and bolt on manual ones, but as it turns out there was a whole lot of differences.

Re: 80 series links in a surf/ longer Controll arms
If you use longer lower arms what about the top ones will they need changing? there dosent seem to be much room there in the Surf / 4Runner to make new mounting points for upper arms.
I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of this because I have a Surf as my nex build up and want to improve it also.

Re: PLEASE HELP - HJ47 2H wont start - short video included
I agree crack the lines at the injectors, pump the primer whilst cranking, there should be fuel coming out around the cracked lines. If there is fuel re-tighten the lines and try again. If it still dosent start. The landcruisers have a failsafe, low oil pressure switch which suts down the engine if ...

Converting Import Prado from electric hubs to free wheeling
This is for the LJ78 Import Prado Its not as simple as it seems the bearing hubs are different and the stub and swivel housings are different. To start you will need -free wheeling hubs from Hilux leaf spring front end or Landcruiser 1982 to 1988 HJ or FJ60, 75, 61 or 62 -stub axles off same models ...

its realy a job for a diesel specialist as it has to be bench tested when done to check that the pump fuel delivery pressures are correct.

Standard tyres 10ltrs/100ks
32'' tyres made it worse 14ltrs/100 I guess it had to work harder to rotate the bigger wheels.

steering arm hitting u bolt
the higher you lift it the sharper the angle on the drag link, standard height hilux with standard sagged springs the drag link is usually fairly level and has plenty of clearance. New flat top u bolt only $15 can help with a 2" lift but if you have higher lift you will need Z adjustable drag link.
