the merits of soldered vs crimped joins.

The debate has been glossed over in other topics a couple of times, but I thought that I would get a topic going debating the benefits of using one method over another (or even using both!). Some arguments for solder include a better joining of wires and less bulk, however is the joint strength ...

Re: intermitent headlights - (fixed!)

power to the relays turned out to be the problem. after pulling the relays and hitting the terminals with a multimeter, i noticed that there was no power to the number 30 terminal. i had checked the fuse for this previously, and did so again, to find that it was not blown. however, looking closer at ...

Re: ARB EZ Tyre Deflators

I've got a Ferret tyre deflator. No gauge on it but it lets out 1 psi a second so you just count as you are letting the tyres down. what happens if you have a slow leak on one tyre, causing it to be say 10psi less than the other tyres to start with? that would be unfortunate if you was hoping to ...

Powdercoat vs 2Pack

Hey all, i have a 2 year old bullbar that has been powdercoated, but it is wearing off in places, some from inpacts but some in places that hardly even gets dust, let alone taking a hit. now the paint on my car is 17 years old, and even in the dented areas it shows little to no sign of cracking off ...

Re: where to get parabolics or coiled and what price?

What are parabolic springs? leaf springs that are thicker in the middle and taper down the be thinner at the ends. also the leafs usually only touch at the ends, with a block between each leaf in the middle(some claim this increases longevity due to less wear from friction... i say that a load of ...

If the fuel stop is mechanical as macca81 said, the only way I can see you doing it, is to install an electrical solenoid valve in the fuel line to the pump. If you ran the negative from the solenoid valve directly to the battery negative terminal (ie not to the chassis), then you should be able to ...

sd33 is totally mechanical, to kill it you either need to stop the fuel or the air... to kill the fuel you need to do that mechanically, with the actuator on the drivers side of the engine, just behind the injector pump. there is a rod attached to an arm on a fist sized squareish thingy, the arm ...

Unbolt it from the car, clean out all the previou solder. Then solder it on it's side just like you do the plug at the other end. You will see when all the old solder is gone the reduction in the top of the base. Makes sense in my head as I type.... you have lost me... but, i know what to do now ...

Post up a pic of what you have got. On mine the centre core runs up the centre, but you solder it from the top of the threaded part, that the mast screws onto (has a hole through it, that in your case would be full of solder still ). i was skeptical, and looking at it you wouldnt think so, but ...

Elevated Feed Aerial - Wiring

ok so some shitbag kids ripped the coax outa my aerial the other day, and now im wiring it back up. but i have never wired an elevated feed aerial before. i assume you run the coax up to the top and put the core into the hole in the middle of the tip, but im unsure on 1) how it stays there, and 2 ...

I wonder if there are also issues with seals that have been exposed to one DOT variety and are then exposed to another. How much of a pity is it that you ask a simple question and you get f#wits that have to reason why. If you dont have the brains nor the info to work out why its required then go back to school. They are there for a specific reason and yes this setup requires it. Actually if you go back to school ...
