Ordering 52mm thick alloy 3 row vn v8 radiator
I think the 2 row 24mm one isnt cutting it. May also have some internal baffles added.
Also going to try a 72* thermostat
Fingers crossed

Re: cooling v8 hilux
Any pics of falcon fans and rad installed. I tried to fit the au fans today and there was zero chance of them fitting infront or behind radiator. Short of chopping the entire front end out of the car i csnt see how they would fit.

Baleno conversion prob
Have just finished bolting a coilpack baleno engine into my 97 lwb and have it wired up (mostly) with a little help used pjzooks diagram. My issue is i still cant get it started. Has fuel (checked at rail), has spark, has all the correct pinout readings at the ecu. Has no fault codes when shorting ...
j20 + j24
Iam just curious as to weather the head from a j20 will fit on the j24 block i realise that they may be a bit new for anyone to have much knowledge on but worth a shot. Seeing as though i dont think anyone will be transplanting the whole 2.4 due to ecu issues i thought that if heads were ...

31" tyres + 1ltr = misery
even with 6:5's, extractors, intake and timing the 5 x 1ltrs i have had all struggle to hold 90 on the straight sections and 80 is optomistic on anything resembling a incline
but if your crawling then does the job

Re: One litre? Should I?
they crawl quite well but on the beach dont expect to climb any dunes and with anything other than standard tyres dont expect to get over 80-90km/phr into a breeze. They will suffice if all your wheeling spots are close by but will test your patience if you have to cover some miles or use it for a ...

Re: g13bb/g16 wiring
ok pinouts are in a different configuration but are essentially identical to coilpack baleno 1.6 there is bugger all info around for the g13bb wiring diagrams so instead i have removed the cover of the ecu and labeled the wires going to the pins as they are written on the circuit board quite clearly ...

sr20 is a huge job, why not just do a 1600 16v and work on the suspension
not trying to deter you but it gets real depressing when you bite of more than you can chew and cant see the light at the end of the tunnel, just do the necessities first and work on a power up later would be my advice

Re: air or mechanical lockers??
depends on how you drive, lots of gear reduction will give you the ability to snap cv's like toothpicks, if you drive sensible you wont have to many breakages if any on 31's. You also will not be able to steer very well offroad with the axles locked this is where the advantage of having an air ...

try and steer clear of one with mud and signs of water under the carpet and in the engine bay. Also one that has done a bit of beach work may mean you snap every bolt you try and undo underneath the car. Most have had a hard life when used offroad, personally i prefer to start with a nice clean ...

hmmm my understanding was that it is possible to run an 8v head on a 16v bottom end but it makes it an interference engine
meaning if the timing belt snaps then the valves hit the pistons ?
