Thanks guys, will go a head and put it all back together. I wish I still had my spare input shaft (dunno where it is, can't find it) so I could use it to line up the clutch, best thing to do it with.....

new clutch in HJ61

Well I turned up the boost and fuel slightly, and the old clutch said I am not playing the game. So at 1800rpm it slips if more that 1/3 throttle is used. So, I have a replacement clutch (extreme outback, which appears to be an exedy as the disc has an exedy part no. on it) Have fitted it, but on ...

Re: Hilux revving its TITS off???HELP???

As BadMav said, it does sound like an air leak. try blocking some of the air intake on the air cleaner (if you can) and see if the revs drop, then try blocking it completely, if it still runs you have an air leak. Maybe be needle and seat stuck, I recall the old holden single barrel stromberg ...

Before buying any new bits and pieces or putting anything into your battery I have a question:

Are you running an external or internal voltage regulator?

The external ones can stuff up, can bounce around and need adjustment, which can be done by GENTLY bending an arm inside. I had this issue with ...

Not sure what clutch is currently in mine, I did an auto to manual conversion about 6 years ago, think I just used a standard 2H (not at 12HT) clutch. Brendan, what sort of clutch are you running behind your 12HT? I wound my boost up to 13PSI and turned the fuel up to match (not that high though, no black smoke at all) and now when accelerating in 3rd of 4th my clutch starts to slip... :bad-words: but it goes quite well. (rebuilt engine, 3 ...

1975 45 series will probably have drums all round, so keep the discs and the rear drums. The diff housing in a '75 FJ45 will have 8 bolts holding the backing plates on, the 60 series will have four. You can re-drill the backing plates or get a later model (47 series have them) 80? onwards housing ...

No throttle valve on the 12HT. There is a throttle plate that is used only to shut off air to turn the engine off, not used for any other reason.

The big question has been asked before: WHY?

the only reason you need to run a BOV on a diesel is if you are getting boost spike, usually happens on gear changes if you have a very looong... intake runner/intake system (usually combined with an intercooler)

If you are not getting boost spike ...

Don't stuff around with second hand A/C parts, not worth the hassle. Just go and buy a new parts. Receiver dryer should be replaced each time the system is opened to air anyway, they are only around $20.00. Condenser for my 60 series was about $300.00. Seriously, if you want a good reliable a/c ...
