Questions on Suzukis in WA

Hello, I apologise in advance if these questions have been asked before, but I've been through a fair few pages and can't see any similar subject line. I am looking at buying a cheap 4WD that will also be cheap to run and modify. I've previously owned a Subaru Sportswagon (never got off road), a ...

This post has a happy ending. I took the Jeep to the auto sparky on Tuesday and he replaced the battery at a cost of AUD195. Driving home with windows down (still no aircon ), a torrential downpour started, and up here they really are torrential. I went to wind the windows up but they wouldn't budge ...

Bloody electrical problems

Hi all, Less than a week after moving to the Pilbara, I decided to take the family out to Hearson Cove near Dampier in our 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited. The Jeep didn't appear to soak up the corregations particularly well and I felt like the car was shaking apart, regardless of how fast or slow I ...

Thanks for the advice on the sound unit. I never considered an MP3 player, but it would be easier than carrying around CD's and I've already got most of my CD's backed up as MP3's anyway. Can it connect to the current head unit or does the head unit need to be replaced by the MP3 player? If it is an ...

Finally bought a Jeep

Hi all, I wrote a thread earlier asking for info on buying a Jeep (see Info wanted on buying a Jeep) and am now the proud owner of a 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited. I have a few questions that I'm hoping you could answer: 1) I was intending on putting on an Old Man Emu suspension set to enhance wheel ...

Whistler's gone

On Monday of this week, I sadly handed over the keys of Whistler as I traded her in on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I did plenty of research on the net and talked to many 4wd nuts before making a decision. The method I came to decide on the Grand Cherokee was this: Ruled out 1st: Anything ...

Re: Daihatsu 4wds, newbie needs help:)

i'm looking to spend around 10k to purchase one or the other, does this sound like a good purchase price for around a 1990 onward. -scooby Many people are saying around $10,000, but I've had my 1993 Feroza SXII advertised (signs on window) for $8000 for a fortnight and haven't had a buyer. It has ...

Thanks for the advice Dave. We've settled on the Cherokee, but it's pretty hard to find any late model (1998 on) turbo diesel models. The Cherokees just felt so much better than the other medium-sized 4wds, and the big 4wds were too big for my wife (who'll be driving it the most). I guess fuel price ...

Hi all, I'm a regular on the Daihatsu forum, but will be moving onto a larger 4wd real soon, so I need advice on purchasing a Discovery. After only about 3 months ownership, I am selling Whistler. Our family will only need one car, so we'll be selling the family car and my Feroza and ...

QLDGal, Have you driven other 4wd's with rigid front axles? I test drove heaps of small (and some medium) 4wd's before settling on the Feroza, which was the best handling vehicle on-road, in part due to the IFS. If you haven't already, try driving a Suzuki Sierra and you'll see the difference ...

When I bought my car, the mechanical check indicated a broken left-side engine mount, but the mechanic didn't seem to think it was a big immediate issue (he mentioned that it was just a rubber bushing) so I haven't fixed it yet. 1. Should I fix it soon? Will leaving it lead to bigger problems 2 ...

Bolt with hole from wheel carrier

Guys, I took my spare wheel off the other day (had a side-wall blow out) and when I went to replace the lower bolt into the threaded hole it would'nt go back in. I then noticed that the bolt had snapped of inside the hole, and on closer inspection realised that the snap occurred where there was a ...

Wait and keep looking. I bought my 1993 SXII about 5 or 6 weeks ago for AUD6,000. The only thing wrong with it was a rusty tailpipe and blown interior light (and probably a cracked manifold which whistles, hence the name). It had a CD player, tinted windows and alarm/immobiliser. I'd looked around ...

I'm still looking for the Tweetybird wheel covers that I need to make my Whistler feel whole again. But honestly, the majority of Ferozas I've seen around have been driven by blokes. Change of Name

I've decided to change my user name on this BB from Black Roza (hardly creative) to Whistler. The exhaust whistle that's been there since I bought the car is starting to grow on me and I now call my Feroza "Whistler". It's not going to stop me from getting a new exhaust system though! Darren

According to Red Book, the three Feroza models brought out in 1993 (SXP and 2 SXII models) all had power windows and mirrors and central locking as standard. My SXII has manual windows, mirrors and normal locking. Have Red Book got it wrong? I only managed to see one other Feroza II model before ...
