Got them on a GQ and they are crap. The first set smashed, sent them back and they gave us another set and they have sh*t themselves too. Gone back to Nissan ones.

We used one from a VL Commodore. Needed a bit of altering. Our Gq is on gas as well and it backfired and blew the airbox, so a little more altering is required now :roll:

My Landy has never had to be pulled out of anything. I have in fact pulled out a 80 series and a Patrol from a track I got up first go. You have obviously never driven a Landy :) We just got back from a 2000k trip pulling a 1200kg Jayco Swan and never missed a beat.

I have a 98tdi auto and I love it. I think you will find people say that the tdi is better with an auto anyway. Its not a speed machine but its not that slow either. You may struggle to overtake unless you can get a run up :) All Landrovers have there problems but so far mine have been easy fix ...

I'm pretty sure the bolts you need are 12x1.25x150mm. Not sure on the other two. Make sure you get high tensile.

From a females point of view, I say go the disco! :P I drive a 98tdi auto and it has to be one of the best 4wdrives Ive driven. If you can find one that has been looked after you wont be sorry. Maybe go and test drive a few different cars to give you some better idea. Good luck.

We had a similar problem and someone suggested to put thicker oil in the rear diff. It is still LSD oil but we put in 90 grade and it seemed to get rid of the noise.

Had the same problem. The head is prone to cracking. Took it to a alloy head specialist and had it tested and they found 3 cracks. They welded the cracks and put harden valve seats in. I paid $1200 which included gaskets and head bolts.

Same thing happened in the gq. Noticed it was getting a bit hot and when I checked the water it had that oil film on it. Checked the oil and it was white. Turned out it had 2 minor cracks and 1 major crack in the head. Cost me $1300 to fix. Thats me taking it off and putting it back on.

We have only had ours for 1 month but so far it has been brilliant. We have already put 3000klm on the clock. It is a 2.5 diesel automatic. I have heard that the models from 99 on have had their problems but I'm sure any car has its problems.

I got hold of an axle and CV and heading out to Levuka on saturday to put it in the car. Had to leave it there on the weekend. Tried taking the axle out and driving it home but as soon as I got around 30km the steering wheel shook like mad.
