Issues With Big Offsets?

Just a quick question re Hilux offsets. Im just about to put new black sunnies on my 03 Hilux. Ive gone for a +7 offset which will bring the tyres 3mm further outside the guards than the standard zero Hilux offset. I could have gone up to a +20 but this would have bought the tyres out 19mm past the ...

03 Hilux Rim Offset?

Gday,

Im about to order a set of black 15x7 Dynamic Sunrasias for my 03 Hilux. I run 31 x 10.5 MTZ tyres. A few questions re offsets:

What offset rim do i need?

Will a -19 offset stick outside of the guards more than a zero offset or the other way around?

Cheers for any advice.

MTZ Tyre Sizing Help?

Im currently running 31 inch MTZs on my 03 Lux with a 2 inch lift - works well on the current 15x7 rims. The tyre shop today suggested i go up to the 265/75R16 size MTZ on a 16x8 rim. What inch size is the 265/75R16 equivilant to? For example is this more like a 32 inch size tyre or closer to a 33 ...

Electrical Help Needed Please!!

Ive just installed a 55 watt Hella worklight on the rear of my Hilux. I was hoping that it might be a bit brighter so am thinking of putting a 100 watt globe in it instead. It is a glass fronted light. Will the 100 watt globe burn out the internal fittings of the light or would it be ok? Cheers. :)

Ive just gone through this decision with my Hilux mate - whether or not to put 33's on it. Getting 33s to fit is one thing and is the easy part. You then face the issues with the larger diameter messing up your gear ratios - if you dont adjust the ratios your vehicle will struggle to push the tyres ...

Old Man Emu 2" Lift - Opinions Needed!!

Gday, I got a quote from ARB today re an Old Man Emu 2 inch lift for my 03 IFS Hilux. Ive decided to stick to 31 inch MTZs and just run a 2 inch suspension lift. Heres the specs of the quote: 2 inch OME lift - equating to approx 35mm on the front and 45mm on the back - they said this is the average ...

Ive got an 03 IFS Lux with no lift at all, completely standard, and 31 inch MTZs fit fine. The only place they may rub is your mudflaps, so i just took them off, now no rubbing at all.

33's on my Lux or not?

Gday all, Im after some advice re putting 33 inch tyres on my 03 TD Hilux (no lift). Given that my rig is at standard height at present what are your thoughts re putting 33 inch tyres under it? Am i likely to encounter rubbing? Will it throw all of my gearing etc out of whack? Will i lose a heap of ...

Do I Have to Cut It Off?????

Gday, I'm looking to buy a canopy for my standard 03 (old shape) Hilux. The Luxs have the rear bar system behind the back window that is welded into the rear tray. If i fit a canopy do i have to cut this bar system off to make the canopy sit flush with the cabin or do the canopies somehow fit over ...

Clutch Flywheel Question??

Gday, I'm still trying to get to the bottom of this ticking noise in my Hilux that goes away when i depress the clutch. Ive now been told that it could be the 'teeth' in the clutch slightly rubbing on the flywheel. I have noticed that the ticking noise gets faster the faster i go and slows down as ...

Clutch or Gearbox Issue??

Gday - ive recently had a thread regarding a constant ticking noise in my 03 TD Hilux. Whenever i put the clutch in even a little bit the noise goes away, it will then return once my foot is taken off the clutch again. So in short - clutch out = constant ticking noise / clutch in = noise stops. Now ...

Gday all, Ive got an 04 TD Lux with 75,000 clicks on it and so far its been an awesome car. I think you will find it will be better to run a second set of cheap tyres and rims if you use it as a daily driver, this will save both fuel and stop a lot of wear on the MTZ's. I put mine on last year and did a trip from Brisbane to Cape York and back and admittedly I was carrying a lot more ...

Yeah I totally agree to go the 31's, the 33's will definetly rub big time, will rip your mud flaps off and cause heaps of problems, been there, done that. I've now got 31 MTZ's on my IFS and they are a great tyre offroad but will knock your performance and economy around on the bitumen. Dipmaker ...
