alloys aren't good for off road use, coz u run the risk of smashing one when aired down. Spacers ARE actually illegal (I'm RWC Certified) but we have 15x8 neg 25 offset rims, new, which were manufactured to fill the flares for this purpose... $95 each, + freight. I recently got a '00 Cherokee, and i love it. :P I'm working on getting a rear wheel carrier, but once I do, the boot is bigger than our old Discovery. As for fuel consumption, less greedy than the old Disco, but not much more than the commodore I replaced. Drive a couple and see how comfy they are....
