Re: Can Trailer Brakes be fitted to trailer and not in cab (

Depending on the weight - simple over ride brakes might be easiest. I needed to upgrade my box trailer to carry 700kgs making the GVM about 1 tonne which is easily towed and braked by my car but to be legal needed brakes so I put overrides on it.

The brakes do not actually work because there is not ...

Re: thoughts on bf goodrich km2's

I have 315/75 R 16s and find them great both onroad and off. They are wearing well and not all that noisy. While a mud they are still a compromise between road and offroad and something like Simex will be better in the mud but crap everywhere else. The KM2s are one of the best muddies that can be ...

My Haflinger is now up and running and back on the road - I took it for its first trip up into the Brindabellas and it ran quite well.

Re: Can you fit a winch without a bullbar legally?

The simple answer is yes but the mount will have to be ADR compliant. Cars like the Discovery 3/4 and RRS have them as and OEM option.

Re: So I bought a Haflinger

Mine has Fiat 14" rims on it with Hankook M+S tyres on it. I can get Maxxis muddies for these but I think they might be a bit tall.

I might put some tractor tyres on the 12" for use in the short distance heavy offroad stuff.

I was at the local branch of the Battery Factory on another matter and I asked about deep cycle batteries for the RRS. The issue is the physical size of most decent sized Ah batteries. Optimas fit but have low Ahs and are expensive at around $400. 60ah Allrounder batteries will fit in the ABS box as ...

You can also fit a smaller physical sized battery such as an optima in the space just in front of the starter battery.

Re: 06 Range Rover compressor failing when 4WDing

You should not have had a problem if you stay below 50kph - as I guess you know, going faster will make it drop to highway height and then it has to pump the car back up again - all this going up and down makes the compressor work harder and overheat - there are kits that allow you to exceed 50kph ...

Sounds like an ignition lead problem with the LPG. With old/dirty leads the high tension charge from the dizzy firing to a cylinder can jump to another cylinder and fire a gas mixture in the inlet manifold via the other cylinder that is sucking in a gas charge in preparation for firing.
