If you really want to stick with the Mq, get yourself a 5speed turbo diesel box & the 4.6 diff gears out of the petrol L29 patrol. dunno if sellin all my crap and buyin the gq gear plus locker is worth the extra 30mm.. Dude MQ Rear centre with air locker can be made to fit in the front. How much wider is the track of the GQ front diff compared to the MQ? Been thinkin about doin this but dunno if I could be arsed putting the money and effort in. Wider track would be nice though...

I was thinkin of puttin GQ front diff under mine but aren't they a wider track? if they are they shouldn't bolt straight in. Plus the Mq has a wider chassis so wouldn't the springs not line up? I mainly want a GQ front for extra track width...and the cv's

You'll wanna run bigger offset rims if you go 2+2+2. Also 2" shackles only give you about a 1" of lift. But I run 2" springs and 30mm Body and clear 35x10.5s. Is kinda tippy though so remember to go out whenever you go up. My NA turns 35s ok. You do use 1st low alot though

Or 2" spring and on 33x12.5" claws

Can get a rebuild kit for about $1200 including pistons, rings, liners, and gaskets. No conrods or crank though, shouldn't need doing normally I wouldn't imagine. Will need the sleeves replaced by a shop probably but could prob do it for under 2K if not much goes wrong
