Re: 4inch Gq

I put a set of rancho 9000's in my GQ with about 6" lift with 3" body lift. Just grab the adjuster dial and wind it all the way up to "slot car" for use on road. Less body roll than stock and no need for sway bars.

Check out ecklers.com

It's mostly corvette specific but they used t 700's and you should be able to find what you're after there.

look in the transmission part.

Hope this helps.

So, would just before the diff centre on a long wheelbase gq be legal???

The floorpan should be sealed the whole way down shouldn't it.

Rta regulations for exhaust pipes

Does anyone have the specs for how far back the exhaust has to finish.

I've been told 6 inches past the last opening window..

Just need to know before i go for a blue slip.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought you needed all 3 #'s to work out the height. in that crappy style anyway. if it was 225/75r15 it would be a 15"rim, 225mm wide and the 75 is the sidewall heaigh as a percentage of the width... But i've never know'n for sure. i like 37x13.5x15 much better. Steve

It could also be the castor.. sounds stupid, but if it's had a castorline or proaxle castor adjusters put in you have to put the top and bottom bearings back in exactly the same way or it can throw the castor out upto 4 deg. usually they're only put in the passenger side though.

Tom, I would look at just a plain non rtc for the patrol, rtc will not help to prevent shimmy if it appears, and will be the first thing you will remove in the process of elimination if the shimmy does appear. The rtc dampers are good, and will help if the caster is borderline on wandering, but ...

I got done with mine.. an expert put 7 degree ...

Endless air type compressor mounting

I was just looking to see if anyone makes, has plans for or has any advice for mounting an aircon type compressor to a 4.2p gq with air con.

I still want to keep the air con and dont want to go through all the r&d if someone else already has.

Thanks

True, mine did loose adjustability too, but all you've gotta do is pull the adjusters off (as in unscrew the allen screws) spray in some wd40 and keep pushing and releasing the piston inside. keep spraying as necessary.

Once i did that i actually got 6 stages of adjustment instead of only 5.

Ok, why is everyone going away from the Rancho's now. I've got em on mine and i think they're great. plus aren't the toughdog shocks a single wall design which means a few dings that wouldn't bother the rancho's and they'd be stuffed???
