G16B blowing fuel pump fuses
Hey Guys, long time no post.. I've got a G16B and harness from a Vitara fitted in my '97 Coilly Sierra which has been running a treat for about a year now. But recently I've been having issues with it blowing the 15A fuse before the main relay that gets 12v from the battery. Basically I'll turn the ...

Bloke I know (he was a truckie) used to swear by putting golf balls in the tyres. He reckons they were just heavy enough to balance the tyre, but light enough not to cause too much extra rolling weight. I was pretty drunk when he was explaining this to me so I might have the reasons wrong, but I ...

O2 sensor on 1.6 MPFI
I'm just about done with the wiring on the Zook, it's a 1.6l 16v MPFI into a Sierra. The only thing I'm struggling with at the moment is, I cant find the wire for O2 sensor... Does anyone know which wire this is out of the harness???

When i was working out at Eucla about this time last year, ULP was $1.76 a litre. I wouldn't be surprised if it was up to around $1.80-$1.90 now. One thing to note is, if you need to fuel up at Border Village, wait untill Eucla. It's only an extra 12kms and the fuel is generally 10c a litre cheaper ...

i was thinking of exploring the side tracks off the powerlines - some more rutted hills etc... i just dont remember where they are anymore! haha I think you'll find that the sidetracks are actually classified as catchment area and therefore a no go zone now... Apparently you cant even play in the ...

If I get off my lazy ass and finish the remaining 4 wires in the Zook and it starts, I'll come up for test run. I've done the lines a few times so can show you the few spots along the track. Basically once you get on there, it's just one long road with different obstacles along the way, no need for ...

AFM Position with snorkel...
I've just dropped a 1.6 MPFI motor into my Sierra and am looking at making a snorkel up. I'm basically looking at running the pipe from the throttle body into an inline fliter, out the body and up the A Pillars. Now my question is where to put the Airflow Meter. Is it best behind the filter, next to ...

Ok, the motor is in, the wiring is done. I changed the timing belt while I had the engine out as it looked a bit crappy, also the fan belt. Rear mains looked fine, no leaks. Needs a new spigot bearing by the look of things, but the gearbox will be coming out again soon as I need to do the synchro in ...

Sweet, thanks very much for all the info. The guy I've bought the motor/wiring off has given me a Feroza fuel pump, as they are external, easy to install, and manage to feed the Feroza's 1.6 fine. And it was FREE! :D I had a feeling that the fuel lines were high pressure but wasn't sure. I'll go ...

1.6 MFI Conversion
I'm in the process of swapping my 1.3 carb for a 1.6 MFI motor. I've got almost everything sorted, just a couple of quick questions... 1: While I have the 1.6 on the floor is there anything I should check maintenance wise before I put it in the Zook? 2: It's going in a '97 Coil Sierra. Will the fuel ...

Mine was having this problem earlier this week/month. Turned out after I did the body lift, one of the vacuum lines running from the airbox to the manifold split. Replaced it and it was still running a bit rough, but it was idling. Pulled the dizzy cap off and #3 was corroded to crap, replaced that ...

Thanks for all the tech guys. I've done an electric fuel pump conversion on my Mini many many moons ago, so I'm aware of cut offs etc for safety. For that conversion I just used a Rover EFI tank, pump, switches etc. I was kind of hoping to do the same with the Zook :P Looks like that VK Relay would ...

Fuel system on a '97 Coil Sierra
Hey Guys Just wondering if anyone new offhand what type of fuel pump a 97 Coil Sierra runs. I'm presuming it's a mechanical pump. Has anyone done a conversion to an electric fuel pump off a vitara or something along those lines? I'm getting to the final stages of my supercharger setup and am now ...

As far as I'm aware, a certain amount of back pressure is used to help the cylinders back down once they reach TDC. Back pressure is not really needed, as proved by starting an engine without any exhaust manifold at all. But with the correct amount of pressure it should run better. I know you are ...
