don't get a uni filter! they are not ment for diesils and they shake them selves to bits! my 3L was breathing alloy for a while! not cool

ok this is going to be a bit technical but here goes... steel has a high "t" value, which is the transfure of heat so if your making you frame from steel then your providing a great path for the heat to get in. your better off making a frame and outer skin around a plastic tub get a few of the same ...

i was lifting a huge green oak log with my chain block today and this got me thinking would they work to pull rather then lift. now mine is only a 1/2 ton but a 2 tone lift block should move a fourby right?

well i have the truck back and they said it was fine and wound up the boost a bit (without me even asking)... so it must be ok. what was i worrying about eh? thanks to every one for your info.

you didn't say if it was a petrol or diesel? and regarding the uni filter ram pods (i have my own thread about them) mine shook it's self to bits. so if you go for a ram pod keep it on a good bracket. but like most people here i'll say that an exposed filter is not good practice. have a good look at ...

the car is now at queenbyan diesel. it seems the turbo is the biggest concern. does any one know of any good wreckers in canberra? i need an air filter box. Another reason to put the OE filter and housing back. Aluminium is light and soft and it looks like they are fine shavings so it might not be as bad as you expect. Obviously you are better off without it going through your engine but I would rather that in my engine than iron filings or even sand or dirt. As BJ said, it's either stuffed or not so ...

the buying used bit on hiluxes said 5th gear is best saved for easy flat stuff, drop down on hills or it will fail.

so i'd say just use 4th more. not that i'm an authority on these things

looks like i was way out with the conversion cost! it's more like $9000+

i'm sure it could be done cheaper if i did a bit of work my self like most of the chop and just left the pro's to do the cleaning up and welding?

any one had experiance with body mods?
