Any diesel worth putting in would cost more then buying another diesel 4x4
The 2l Kia would be great
Diesels are great for towing but suck in a 4wd as they have a small rev range
Drop in a 2.5 gv motor
Or best I've seen yet a 1.8turbo out of a vw
200 rwhp would pull a trailer nice

how easy was it to break hilux cv on the 35
im thinking of going undertaker and auto to gear it down and would love to go 35 for weekend trips and keep the 31 for touring

i have 4.2 gears and fell its to low sometimes but not lowenough when trying to drive steps and stuff

mine went for a swim yesterday and the carpet is full of mud.

do they use any of the same bearings
my vitara is to heavy and i dont want to only have 2 seats
need a gvm upgrade but dont want to go to 80 series diff (well do but dont have the coin)

y u have it apart go get a sierra rear hemishphere and side gears then throw in a lockright
u will need ds cv and intermediate shaft out of a 2l vit as well as it will be 26spline

i have a lwb so it is a 1.6 efi.
it has 215000km on it so maybe the motor it tied and needs rebuilding. it does not seem to bad, no smoke or anything just not much power
Would it be the 31 or should the motor be able to pull the car along still alright with 31 on it

then i would have to change diffs to suit the off set then bigger ties to clear the diffs then then then it never ends once you start
i would love to stick the sierra box and 60 diffs and some 35 as well but then it wouldnt be to good for touring and my wife would kill me

i know the gearing is wrong but without alot of work there is not much gearing to do in a vit for high range the tc gears are only low range i have 5 12 diffs already and the 5.89 are never for sales and i recon they wouldnt be to strong i was thinking the 4cl as like atari4x4 said it would fit ...

to get more head room make the b pillar higher then the targer and run the bracers back over it this gives heaps more room and then you can add wings above the doors which helps when leaning on stuff. there should be enough slack in the softtop to go back over it to

put a pipe in the front cross member then bolt through it with crush tube in to the winch bar as well that will give some more strength but even then probly not enough ps get some hooks as the eye bolts are a wast of time i had them on my bar on my coily and the come loose all the time.

you can buy a lot of spare cv for the diff swap lol
you dont need big lift in a sierra any way with such a short wheelbase
2 in body 2 in spring and virtual lift and u should easy fit 33.
i had 31 with just bumpstop spacer and guard chop

out door auto does a drop cross member for the transfer case that might help.
u will need a off set 60mm spacer for the rear ball joint and a tail shaft spacer.
