Winch challenge last weekend

Did anyone get up to Cruiser Park last weekend to watch the Restriced Entry Winch Challeange put on by Lance.

Other than being very hot, I heard that some of the hills were insane.

Apparently Mike Clayton won the event.

Well - Got the new toy home last night. the jeep itself is perfect, I am very impressed. But what a difference from a zook to this. I can see the offroad potential these things have already. HOW GOOD IS THE STEERING!! I will have to order a body lift and some wider flares so i can put the 33's on it ...

Lexx,

Thanks for the offer that is very generous of you.

That is the benefit of these forums.

If I do decide to go with one in Vic, I will be sure to let you know.

Yeah Matt

I phoned about that one first but it had gone.

I checked all papers today and nothing...

They are cheaper in Melbourne but not many of them have air and it would cost me close to $1 grand to get it back up here.

so I take it no one has seen an bargains? It amazes me how much the prices differ... take - a 97 black auto with air and alloys - 67000k's - $17 990.00 - a 97 grey auto with air and alloys - 84000k's - $23 999.00 both are in car yards. The grey one is in better cond. but not 6 grand better.

One is Brisbane is a 97 black auto with air and is a low rider. No mods accept some dodgy black and red alloys. But ...

Sam,

That's exactly what I am after.

Their was one in a yard at Parramatta for $14500.00 but it's sold.

BTW - Does anyone know if the auto in a TJ is any good - would it handle a winch challenge. Or should i go the good old manual (FRY THE CLUTCH)?

You say - Dobbins are too expensive. They are about 1/2 what everyone else is quoting here. I paid $350 for the ranchos 9012's Sent them to Glen and he modded them to be coilovers for $400 (This is two years ago) Had springs made locally for $150. He presto coil overs for $900 - a pair including ...

I think that a V8 zook would rock. Possibly a bit big, but there is nothing worse than spend 2,3,4,5,6 grand on a 1.3 or 1.6 and then relise that you should have bought a 2.5 GV v6 for 3 grand in the first place. Trust me that feeling sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When it comes to power v's gearing it depends ...

Unfortunately the Jimna Winch Challenge is on that weekend at Cruiser Park. This is the first of a new series and any vehicle that has finished in the top 5 of an extreme wicnh challenge is not allowed to enter. This is meant to encourage new people to the sport.

What i like is how the make up of the $17K does not include the claws or the high mount winch, etc, etc, etc. What else is he forgetting!!!!

In reality it would probably cost alot more.

My ute isn't too dis-similar, but at least i still have a zook donk.

Cheers,
Andrew.

Marshy,

Sounds like your night just kept on getting worse. HOW WAS ROD?????

I wouldn't be concerned about the boss thing, i would be more concerned that a Suzuki helped to recover you.

We pulled the pin after CP2 - was geting too cold and too late. I heard that CP3 was interesting?
