If the engine was in a skyline or similar this setup should be making 350-380rwhp but in patrol with 33's might just crack 300 ? Will find out next week when it goes on dyno.

Also i still have a GU 2.8L intercooler and piping if interested .

Just a quick update. I decided to build a rb30det in the meantime. I hooked up a external line to keep the VCT and the thing is very torquey now even with a HKS gt-rs turbo . Will post a few vids and pics . http://i41.tinypic.com/259k1tw.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/qqy2vs.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com ...

The vg30dett is a shit engine . Nightmare to work on and they have a heap of cooling issues and are quite a fragile engine. If you really wanted a v6 you would go the vq30det . vq30det.com. Much lighter , stronger , smaller v6 and alot more reliable. But putting the v6 in is a major hassle as the ...

Air to air is a bit difficult on a GU as the radiator is so wide so its hard to get the piping around . Im going to go water to air on my GU as i think it will be easier then a air to air in the GU. have a look at this kit . http://www.frozenboost.com/product_info.php?cPath=216&products_id=1034 ...

They only drop down into 7.8:1 if the use the vl turbo bottom end. If you use the naturally aspirated 3L bottom end you get a perfect turbo cr of 8.5:1 with the twin cam head. With the right tuning these pistons will still handle up to 400rwhp. Its all about the tune and not letting it detonate ...

You could use a vh41 or vh45 nissan v8 using a marks adator plate to mate it to the gearbox. Both those v8;s would be significantly better on fuel economy then a chev or 308

Ricer boys ? I think thats the term given to honda civics etc not rb engines.

And you use the rd28 crank in the rb25 block to make it a 2.8L twin cam.

There wasn't any decent factory GU engines to consider so i pulled it out and put a rb25det in it from a r33 skyline nice conversion but don't nissan make a 4.5 v8 for the infinity? The vh45 4.5L v8 didnt come out in a patrol and the conversion would have been alot more diffucult and expensive . On ...

GU engine Conversion : RD28 out and RB25DET in

I thought i might post up a pic of my engine conversion. After picking up a 2.8L GU for a good price i quickly got bored with the rd28's lack of any sort of acceleration . There wasn't any decent factory GU engines to consider so i pulled it out and put a rb25det in it from a r33 skyline . They have ...
